The VAT team group is part of the Global Tax Function. The purpose of this role is to support the VAT team’s efforts to ensure global VAT governance incl. compliance, support tax control and partner with the different business to safeguard the global VAT position.
To expand our VAT team, we are currently looking for a VAT Analyst. In this position, based in Zwolle, the Netherlands, you will be responsible for the preparation and submission of VAT-returns, EC Sales declarations and Intrastat reports in different tax jurisdictions. You will be working closely with our Manager VAT and will report into our Director Indirect Tax, who are both based in Zwolle, the Netherlands.

Preparation, submission of VAT-returns, EC Sales declarations and Intrastat reports in different tax jurisdictions. Ensures timely payments and correct financial postings related to VAT compliance.
Teams up on VAT issues and performs support activities for the other VAT group members.
Act as the Corporate Tax contact person for Abbott’s Global Reclaim VAT program.
Provides VAT support by analyzing VAT and financial data.
Supports the financial VAT reconciliation processes.
Support the VAT compliance processes in order to make sure various ERP systems can handle VAT compliance work.
Supports the continuous optimization of our VAT compliance process.
Responsible for maintaining/keeping the data on the VAT team’s SharePoint site up to date.
Assists with internal or external audits and queries from Tax authorities.
Maintains VAT records and corresponding with internal stakeholders as well have supervised contact with external tax authorities and/or consultants.
Supports collaboration with different stakeholders inside and outside the Corporate Tax team to ensure that tax records, recommendations, and reports are accurate and timely followed up.
Supports other global tax projects i.e. digital taxation, e-invoicing, SATF, ERP projects.
Wat we bieden
HBO bachelor education in a tax related field (such as Fiscal Law, Fiscal Economics or Accountancy) or 2+ years of experience in an (EMEA) VAT Compliance practice is a strong pré.
You are pro-active, result and deadline driven, flexible, adaptable, able to engage in, prioritize, and perform multiple ongoing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational-, analytical- and problem-solving skills
Proficient user of Excel, SharePoint, and other MS applications.
Experience with various ERP systems such as SAP is a plus.
Not afraid to work with numbers. Affinity with financial processes incl. AP & AR experience is a must.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
