    Job Description

    Business demand is rapidly increasing and we are looking for a highly dependable, enthusiastic leader to support our growing operations. This role is uniquely positioned in EMEA, working onsite with a large international technology company. You will be part of a Global Logistics Team, working together to ensure the customer’s needs are met holistically and with a best in class level of service. It requires a dynamic individual with a strong transportation & logistics background as well as excellent communication, people management, and customer service skills. The Transportation Project Manager is responsible for leading people and managing processes and activities related to the safe and timely execution of transportation projects and operations. Collaborates across functions and regions to improve relationships, manage and implement projects, and streamline overall operations utilizing a host of tools including business analysis and process improvement techniques. Makes recommendations for strategic decision making and implementation of global initiatives. Our Transportation Operations team actively manages the freight network for technical infrastructure data centers around the world in a dynamic, fast changing environment.


    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work with cross-functional teams (compliance, warehousing, manufacturing, service providers and information systems) both internally and outside of Global transportation to plan, lead or contribute to high impact projects that result in streamlining processes and generate efficiencies by identifying and reducing waste in the existing and newly-designed processes.
    • Ability to contribute individually and manage indirect small teams for providing freight management support to internal customers
    • Define and improve key operational workflows and SOPs for inbound and outbound shipments into, out of warehousing hubs and manufacturing facilities across EMEA
    • Manage tactical operations and weekly reviews with service vendor partners using key performance indicators and present findings and opportunities to management. Ensuring trends both positive and negative are identified
    • Provide appropriate solutions to internal customers for on-time, safe and secure delivery, meeting and exceeding the customer’s internal standards
    • Work with teams to gather, analyze data and present findings to other teams and management
    • Analyze operational data and manage root cause identification and correction processes with the vendor partners
    • Support transportation procurement processes as they relate to inbound and outbound workflows in and out of the customer’s hub and facilities in the region

    Skills and experience requirements

    • Excellent project management and communication, problem solving skills,
    • Ability to tailor format and style of effective communication in person, via email, documents and presentations
    • Working knowledge of import/export/transcon processes, documentation, etc.
    • Resilience to perform in an ever changing, demanding environment
    • 5+ years experience in Freight Forwarding ideally with direct working knowledge of transporting air freight, parcel freight, sea freight and road freight operations
    • Must be a team player, display and drive a culture of respect within the workplace
    • Ability to acquire, analyze and represent data as needed
    • Experience in Root Cause Analysis

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Experience leading cross-functional projects dedicated to transportation, transportation technology, supply chain enhancement, and cost optimization
    • Ability to operate and lead in an increasingly complex and evolving business model to develop best in class forward, reverse, multi pickup, and dropship logistics networks

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Track record of developing strong working relationships with internal customers (manufacturing, facilities, finance, procurement, etc.) and service providers
    • Ability to think globally and strategically, influencing change across a complex organization
