Our client is an international full-service logistics company based in Rotterdam. You will join a team of 10 members: 6 planners, team leader, manager and a billing employee. The sphere within the team is very open and rather informal.
In the role of transport planner your main responsibilities are:
To make an inventory of the expected bookings;
To make sure there is sufficient haulage-capacity for these bookings;
To monitor and follow up on transports-in-progress with hauliers;
To make a transportation planning of bookings for the coming days;
To set up and send of the trucking-orders to the suppliers;
To check and secure of availability of equipment needed;
To arrange intermodal traffic with relevant barge / rail operator.
Logistics/shipping background and education;
Experience in transport planning of containers via road;
A good understanding of financial processes, shipping industry, incoterms and related regulations;
Proactive and able to work independently as well as in a team;
Positive mindset and capability to multitask and work under pressure;
Excellent communication skills;
Fluent Dutch and English language skills; French or German would be an advantage;
Flexibility with regards to working hours.
