Ecolab is seeking a Technical Excellence Manager - Food&Protein to join our Food & Beverage Technical team to lead the transformation of our business in a segment focused approach that will accelerate our profitably growth and position us as leaders in the Food and Protein market.

What You Will Do:
Lead, manage, train and retain a team consisting of Technical Excellence Specialists experts in the Food and Protein Segment across the European region, who provide value-added applications and technical support services to Food and Protein customers and field sales/service personnel.
Specifically, this team provides support in the following ways:
Field Support - Troubleshooting customer sanitation and related problems, including food product quality and microbial safety concerns. This position includes necessary travel, anticipated to be 30%, to deliver on-site field technical support and consultation to employees and customers.
Application Support – Support the local Sales/Service Representative or Corporate Account Manager to provide specific application support for products and programs. This can include surveys and offer preparation, startup, optimization, cost saving opportunities, or conversion of new offerings across a given customer base or market segment.
Training & Education – Provide training for Food & Beverage personnel and customers in sanitation programs, technical application of sanitation products and methods of problem solving. Liaison with customers, universities, technical associations, and vendors to the food industry as well as keeping current on new technologies, technical information and government regulations is essential.
Phone Support - Provide effective, accurate, courteous, and prompt consultation and routine phone technical service to both internal and external customers with commitment to follow-up and resolution.
Provide our team with leadership, training and support enabling the roll out and adoption of new innovations and tools.
Advocate ways to improve our service capabilities through your team, ensuring that we are effective in Creating, Capturing and Communicating value. Personally addressing the most challenging customer requests via on-site visit and/or remote troubleshooting.
Creating a culture of collaboration amongst the Technical Excellence Specialists to foster best practice sharing, innovation, and efficiency.
In collaboration with the market Division Leads, review, approve objectives, assign, and maintain schedule of Technical Excellence Specialists to ensure optimum use of resources.
Work closely with Marketing, Innovation and R&D colleagues to develop the future generations of tools, products and services to our Food and Protein customers.
Manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously in various phases of development and ensures that quality standards are maintained for assigned projects.
Analyse team findings, contribute to and direct the preparation, presentation, and follow-up of technical service activities.
Prepare and present formal presentations at executive briefings.
Stay current on news, trends and best practices in the Food and Protein Market and understand impact on Ecolab product line and business. Develop and maintain technical consul with food equipment suppliers, food processor groups, professional associations, regulatory agencies and academic groups.

The effectiveness of this position is measured primarily by the success of the incumbent in the reduction of lost business and the ability to assist in obtaining new business.
Professional experience incl. working in the field with customers in the Food and Protein Market.
Experience and proven success managing cross-country teams. Preferred candidate will have shown strong skills in communication, motivating teams, problem-solving, accountability, ability to have crucial conversations, organizational development, priority setting, gaining trust and honesty.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams and Project.
Written and spoken English.
Willingness to travel 30-50% of the time.
Willingness and ability to occasionally workdays, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Ability to take initiative and work independently.
Bachelor or M. S. degree in Microbiology, Engineering, Food Science, or Physical Sciences.
Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills, setting vision and strategy, planning, critical thinking, orchestrating cross-functionally, overseeing multiple project elements and proven track record of results.
Ability to influence people and projects in a complex organizational structure; strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, good attention to detail and use of sound judgment in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Must have demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
Willingness to travel as required to drive execution of the above.
