    Office Dep ot Europe | Viking has an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager to join our European headquarters in Venlo , the Netherlands . The role is a fulltime, permanent position o ffering an excellent salary and benefits package.

    Your role as a Tax Manager

    Responsible for ensuring compliance of VAT accounting within the Oracle ERP platform for complex multi-territory supply chain B2B and B2C scenarios. To assist the European Tax Group in the preparation of IFRS and local GAAP tax provisions for the European entities. To support on European wide tax projects such as restructurings and transfer pricing studies and to prepare information to assist in tax audit representation and assist in corporate income tax filings.

    • Determination of the VAT implications of complex supply chain scenarios within the Oracle ERP platform

    • Preparation of half-yearly, annual, post-tax return filing and post-tax authority audit true-ups to IFRS tax reportings for all European entities. Perform accurate and tax technical reviews of all European group tax reportings as prepared by local finance teams or advisors. Identification and determination of potential risks affecting the tax reporting. Preparation of tax memoranda that support the tax treatment adopted for material items affecting the businesses

    • Monitoring existing controls that affect the determination, filing and payment of corporate income taxes for the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Belgium

    • Review internal recharges to ensure that they meet with transfer pricing regulations and perform interviews in order to determine transfer pricing. Preparation of transfer pricing studies, with supporting third party comparables, in accordance with the transfer pricing regulations of all territories

    • Understand internal customers’ business and needs; build and maintain business relationships. Meet / hold calls with internal customers on a periodic basis to share information, understand emerging risks and new initiatives, and determine how this information will impact the corporate income tax and VAT return filings

    • Assist in educating local finance teams with local territory, IFRS, local GAAP tax accounting, transfer pricing and VAT matters and to drive process improvements

    What do you need to be successful in this role

    • Bachelor’s degree in either Tax or Accounting (CPA or Master Economics/Tax)

    • Three to seven years of relevant working experience in international (complex) tax preparation, preferably in a big 4 accounting firm or large multinational

    • Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP platform

    • Strong understanding of the VAT implications of complex supply chain scenarios involving multiple legal entities and countries

    • Good experience in IFRS and Dutch GAAP from an accounting and tax perspective

    • Excellent in the English and German language

    • Strong excel skills

    • Knowledge of complex supply chain scenarios, knows how to get things done both through formal channels and the informal network

    • Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully and handle time pressured work load

    • Process Management; knows how to organise people and activities

    • Anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks, creates focus and meets deadlines

    • Strong analytical skills and in-depth understanding of accounting practices
