The Automotive System Innovations (ASI) team is part of the Central Technology Office (CTO) department of NXP Semiconductors. We drive innovation on system level for the automotive businesses in applications like ADAS, radar systems, in-vehicle networking, battery management systems as well as mobile robotics. We foresee that artificial intelligence through embedded neural networks will often provide a significant part of the ‘smartness’ in the products for these markets.
We innovate by combining technologies, IPs and products from different NXP entities and by participating in collaboration projects with customers, universities and research institutes. Together with the Business Lines, we anticipate future technology trends and gather innovative system and application insights for the BL roadmaps by developing innovative automotive system prototypes, often in co-operation with external partners and customers. Where possible, we support new business development / new markets across BLs, leveraging NXP technologies and competences. We also created and maintain the NXL (Next Experience Lab) which showcases all the latest NXP inventions to visitors of our Eindhoven headquarters.
Our Mobile Robotics project team uses NXP components to create reference designs for different modules required for commercial drones, UAVs and rovers. In cooperation with partners and open source community, we created a complete reference design for mobile robotics (drones/rovers), on which we continue to build and add new features. The system engineer will be part of the team, implementing and integrating drone related SW/HW solutions. First focus is on the maintenance and further development of the Battery Management System.
Our BMS project team investigates the use of new wireless technologies in Battery Management Systems for Electrical Vehicles. The system engineer will be part of this team, doing hands-on measurements of wireless signals inside a battery pack, but also help to develop new algorithms to optimize the battery life of the EV.
BSc in a technical specialism, like Electrical Engineering
Affinity with hardware-software integration for embedded systems on Nuttx/Linux.
Skilled in schematic design and layout review
Knowledge of Battery Management Systems: State-of-Health, State-of-Charge, Battery technologies
Excellent communication skills in English (verbal /written). Experience in working in/with multi-site and multi-cultural projects/teams
Pro-active and enthusiastic, open for new challenges
You might also have:
Familiarity with semiconductor and/or automotive field
Hands on skills for embedded systems development on different architectures and operating systems.
