    Supply Chain Manager/Trader Sustainable Fuels

    To spearhead initiatives for us to meet our global ambition to offer our customers sustainable, non fossil energy by 2040, we have set up a Sustainable Core Team in SHV Energy HQ in Hoofddorp. Our SuFu strategy includes 4 pillars :

    • Secure new supply - business development / negotiation with potential bioLPG/bioLNG/other product suppliers
    • Explore new routes & products – defining new technology routes for different target feedstocks resulting in propane, butane and other products including rDME and green hydrogen
    • Commercialize sustainable fuels – global support for the activities in current in 7 BU’s and initial preparation in additional target countries
    • Engage stakeholders – establishing key relationships required for SHV Energy group (including daughter companies) to expand sustainable fuel developments in the short and long term

    The Global SuFu Core Team was set up in January 2018 and has grown to 9 people by April 2021. The team has been successful in identifying a long list of SuFu prospects including projects, technology providers and suppliers. There is a strong portfolio of R&D projects and activities established within the 2021 budget and a pipeline of investment proposals.

    We are now looking to strengthen the SuFu team with a Supply Chain Manager/Buyer. This position will report to the Head of Investment & Supply. This is a key role for someone with background in renewables/biofuels finance, technology and policy looking to make a strong contribution to the success of this key strategic topic for SHV Energy.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Develop strategies & tactical plans to secure SuFu contracts including co-ordinating negotiating and contract development together with S&RM, legal and other relevant internal departments
    • Develop local and global business cases for supply opportunities taking into account local incentives, logistics costs and other relevant factors
    • Monitor,analyze, and interpret market trends in BioLPG (and other bio-based gas components) supply to support scouting for new activities / initiatives necessary to achieve roadmap milestones, including initial evaluation of possible relevance / risk / reward / impact for SHV Energy group.
    • Monitor,analyze, and interpret market trends in green certificate trading to support scouting for new activities / initiatives necessary to achieve roadmap milestones, including initial evaluation of possible relevance / risk / reward / impact for SHV Energy group
    • Study competitors’ services and products from BioLPG (and other bio-based gas component) commercial / trading perspective
    • Establish and engage with trading house/brokers to identify potential collaborations for sustainable fuels supply
    • Active member of the SuFu core team defining and refining strategic pillars to achieve our strategic objectives.
    • Support SuFu core team in strategic thought leadership on role of BioLPG for SHV Energy with a focus on relevant stakeholders for BioLPG (and other bio-based gas components) trade & supply issues
    • Build database of external stakeholders & manage relationship (networking)
    • Build community of internal stakeholders & manage relationship (internal buy-in & collaboration)

    As such we would like you to:

    • 5+ years experience in the oil & gas, sustainability and/or renewable energy industry, consultancy or public affairs agency
    • Energy distribution sales & trading, planning & logistics competencies
    • Relevant financial academic qualifications
    • Good understanding of and interest in the energy policy & incentive landscape (EU including RED and RED II, ETS and other relevant schemes)
    • Strong project management skills
    • Experience & interest in negotiation tactics
    • Analytical skills to assess and identify appropriate courses of action for resolution of problems that are unique, diverse and time sensitive
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Available for travel up to 40%
