    Supply Chain Finance Director Europe

    BUSINESS CONTEXT:

    The Supply Chain (SC) organization is at the core of the European Operating Model. Europe (EU+ UK) is a key market for Unilever, delivering ~20% of its global Turnover.

    The regional Supply Chain supplies the four European Performance Management Units (EU PMUs), Food Solutions (FS) as well as a variety of other Unilever Units and 3rd party customers. The EU Supply Chain is at the heart of the business owning a cost base worth ~7 bn€ (60% of Europe Cost) across multiple cost buckets, ranging from Materials to Production cost, Logistics and SC Overheads.

    The SC Finance team plays a pivotal role - supporting all the strategic business decisions and providing relentless focus on the SC performance. In this context, the effective and efficient management of SC operations is vital to Unilever’s ambition to create fuel for growth (F4G) and to achieve the underlying profit ambitions of the company. It’s a highly dynamic environment and constantly evolving with transformative operational processes and business strategies.

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

    The Foods and Refreshments (F&R) Category in EU is €6 bn. in Turnover and has ~ €3.8 bn. of Supply Chain Costs (SCC) under management.

    The Foods & Refreshment SCF Director role is the lead for driving gross margin for the Category, landing transformation programs across the supply chain networks, accelerating Fuel 4 Growth programs across all PMUs and countries, driving operational and stewardship excellence across sourcing units and 3PMs and most importantly engage, develop, and build capabilities of a large team of finance talent (approx. 40 Finance professionals) reporting into the role.

    This role is the co-pilot for navigating the long-term Category Supply Chain strategy in the region.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Business Partner to the 2 Supply Chain VP's for Europe for Foods and Refreshment

    • As part of the Europe Supply Chain Finance Leadership Team to set and drive the overall vision and future fit agenda for the Supply Chain Finance team (100+ talent pool)

    • Develop end-to-end category business strategy and define long / short-term value agenda

    • Own and drive performance across entire Supply Chain P&L

    • Create, own, and drive large value impact programs (5S, Network Transformation, Run to Standard, Complexity reduction) to keep the financial growth engine running

    • Ensure financial delivery through discussions and action planning with CCBTs

    • Manage and develop a broad team of Finance Business Partners across Europe

    • Hold governance on controls across SUs in Europe

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Strong business and commercial acumen (E2E thinking and value focus)

    • Outstanding ability to simplify the complex and formulate business strategy/priorities

    • High degree of flexibility, ability to understand and pivot between topics

    • Creative and innovative with high level of curiosity and courage

    • Strong knowledge of key finance processes, systems, controls, roles & responsibilities

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • 10 years’ experience in Finance Business Partnering with exposure to Supply Chain and Category environments

    • Proven track record in managing and influencing large, complex and senior set of stakeholders in devising strategy and driving business performance

    • Interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building

    • Ability to build and manage large teams

    • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands and priorities

    • Grounded in understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of stakeholder trust and confidence.
