    Supplier Procurement Officer - Food

    Our client is a French company based in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. They are a major player in distribution around the world with 12,225 stores in more than 30 countries, 321,000 employees and a turnover of nearly 80.7 billion Euros (source 2019).

    In 2017 they opened up their offices in Amsterdam to launch a new concept, in the context of the development of discount stores in Europe with the mission of sourcing the best food and non-food offers in this market. From Amsterdam they supply the 6 European countries of the client (Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Poland and Romania) using 2 warehouses to date to carry out operations.

    They have, in addition to the original trading activity, been providing the back office (assortment, store supply) for the new discount concept developed by the mother holding within its stores since 2021.

    In this role you will be responsible for managing the food products supply needs in the warehouse in conjunction with the assortment manager and the S&OP manager. Placing orders with suppliers, ensuring compliance with palletisation, packaging, lead time, shelf life policy and truck optimisation. Managing the order portfolio according to commercial priorities and the reception capacities of the logistics provider.

    Responsibilities:

    • Placing orders from the food permanent products based on shop sales
    • Placing seasonal orders according to commercial commitments (1st order) and shop sales
    • Placing Hyperdeal and RDV clients orders according to commercial commitments
    • Placement of new products in accordance with shop requirements and quantities to ensure 2 supply cycles per shop
    • Follow up with suppliers on product availability and delivery times
    • Extracting stock volumes to analyse low turnover or dead stock
    • Manage the end of product life (seasonal, hyperdeal, best before date)
    • Participate in business meetings with the S&OP Manager and the assortment manager to define procurement priorities and action plans to be implemented
    • Participate in meetings with suppliers to present the delivery specifications and analyse the quality of service

    Requirements:

    • 3 to 5 years of higher education
    • Operational experience in procurement in a retail company for at least 3 years
    • Significant operational experience in procurement of at least 3 years in the retail sector
    • Good knowledge of IT tools (Excel)
    • Very good level of written and spoken English
    • French and Spanish are a plus
