Payments is critical to this mission. The role of Chief of Staff to the VP Global Payments is a critical one for the Booking Payments department and will have immediate and deep exposure to senior executives.
The role is two-fold: assisting the head of the department (and its leadership team) on a daily basis, and driving strategy articulation & planning (more details below).

Primary responsibilities are organised around three pillars:
Support the VP of Global Payments on a daily basis
Be a sparring partner to discuss key high-level topics facing the department
Be an ‘accountability’ partner to ensure time is spend on highest-priority activities
Create content or output materials as needed to support VP, eg. quarterly Board updates, strategic memo, etc
Elevate Payments Leadership Team effectiveness:
Oversee leadership team meetings, agenda preparation, follow-up on action items
Work with the rest of the organisation to ‘make it happen’, eg. identifying and escalating issues, serving key stakeholders as needed to drive outcomes
Support/drive strategic projects where deeper involvement is needed
Drive longer-term strategy around Payments and Financial Services
Drive strategy development, articulate longer-term vision and ‘path to get there’
Identify longer-term opportunities for Payments and Financial Services, also staying on top of market trends and competitor developments
Support the translation of strategy into key business objectives via the business planning cycle
5+ years in strategy consulting, M&A, private equity, or in a strategy department at a financial services company
2+ years proven experience consulting and strategizing in the payments industry
Well-round, bright, and very analytical individual
Excellent project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (ability to drive discussions with senior executives)
Excellent relationship management skills (ability to challenge others in a constructive manner)
Strong leadership skills
Proactive / self-starter
High adaptability / Able to thrive in a complex environment
