Your main responsibilities as Strategy Advisor
Joining the Market Insights team means creating decision making material for the highest level in Vattenfall. It means developing market insights and scenario analyses and translating these into decision support tools. It means being, analytical and strategic, to help accelerate Vattenfall’s goals.
You will help shape Vattenfall’s view on the Nordic energy market and electricity price development in the longer perspective towards 2050, which plays a key role when developing our strategy and making investment decisions at Vattenfall. You will be at the center of developing Vattenfall’s understanding of the Nordic energy market.
The fundamental analysis and deep dives into market drivers you develop, will help ensure financial forecasting models and strategic hypothesis used in Vattenfall, are credible and robust. You will be responsible for working closely with analytical partners, to develop market assumptions, price outlooks, and insights on the Nordic energy market.
You will act as the right hand of the Director of Market Insights, frequently interact with Vattenfall leadership, and play a key role in negotiating and aligning between our different businesses. You will ensure leaders across Vattenfall trust the team’s decision support tools, to use in strategic decision making, portfolio analyses, strategic projects, business development projects and market entrance studies.
Your qualifications as Strategy Advisor
Ambition, curiosity and aspirations to make an impact on a climate smarter world
Experience in how the Nordic energy system works and interest in being a thought leader in demand, supply, transmission, policy in the Nordics
4+ years’ experience at a utility, energy consultancy, think tank, institution or information provider, the European Commission, European Parliament
University/Academic degree that has given an appreciation for analysing and working with complex data sets or problems. Masters or PhD preferred
Proven analytical skills, the ability to translate large amounts of market, political and technological data into economic scenarios and strategic hypothesis
Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to create and deliver executive level presentations
Proven experience of leading initiatives and projects and an Agile mindset
A people person who can connect easily with analysts, top management and external experts

Strategy & Business Development (S&BD) is part of Staff Function Strategic Development at corporate level in Vattenfall. We exist to accelerate Vattenfall’s transition towards its goal, fossil free living within one generation. There are four functions in S&BD; Market Insights develop scenarios, provide a deep understanding of main energy industry trends; Group Strategy, are responsible for ensuring Vattenfall is a leader in the energy transition and a thriving business today and in the future; Business Development, find and realize new business opportunities that will enable fossil-free living in one generation and; Asset Owner Support, focus on internal collaboration and creating value for Vattenfall’s asset owning businesses.
