    Strategic Sourcing Development Manager

Trading & Supply is integral to this aspiration and is working with partners in the Downstream to grow its position as a market leader in BioFuels by securing a sizeable and sustainable portfolio of active feedstock positions through our established Global Trading Network, the development of new supply infrastructure while ensuring the business continues to evolve with biofuels legislation, international trade policies and market developments.

    What’s the role?

    As a Strategic Sourcing Development Manager to Shell’s Biofuels division, you will develop and lead the long-term strategic partnerships with key feedstock suppliers in order to create a solid supply to Shell’s growing HVO manufacturing footprint globally, with reliable and competitively priced HVO feedstock. This role will also identify ,select and develop the strategic partners across the full spectrum of feedstock opportunities. The solution space may range from negotiating long term offtake agreements with suppliers while considering price/risk elements, structured finance arrangements to support growth through strategic partners, supporting M&A activities to vertically integrate into HVO feedstock, and selectively funding R&D developments,.

    More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

    • Works closely with feedstock traders and business development managers to carefully identify, develop and manage supplier relationships;
    • Closely liaises with the HVO feedstock optimization manager on sourcing requirements and alignment with the overarching feedstock strategy;
    • Maintains a wide network of personal contacts externally to monitor feedstock market developments and innovations towards 2nd generation feedstocks.

    What we need from you?

    We’re keen to hear from professionals who have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent work experience. Beyond that, we’d hope to see as many of the following as possible on your CV:

    • Substantial experience in strategic sourcing and building professional relationships across both European and international markets.
    • Commercial expertise particularly in deal making and contract negotiations;
    • Exceptional experience in in biogenic oil wastes and residues markets like used cooking oils;
    • Knowledge of trends and innovations in product quality, R&D/technology, supply chain;
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
