    What’s the opportunity?

    In September 2019 we launched our fulfilment centre (FC) in Aalsmeer; the heart of the European horticulture industry. The FC handles inbound deliveries from growers of plants and our suppliers of pots and accessories, then prepares customer orders to be dispatched to London and Paris on a daily basis.

    We are seeking a Stock Controller who will manage the flow and accurate reporting of our inventory position in the FC. Responsibilities will involve coordinating the receipt of deliveries, stock counts and the development of inventory management processes and systems.

    What will the job involve?

    • Stock Audits
    • Prepare expected stock reports using various data points
    • Complete regular stock counts with the assistance of temporary staff and diagnose any variances
    • Inbound Delivery Management
    • Coordination and ownership of accurate inbound checks
    • Working with other departments to ensure the inventory routine is followed closely
    • Supplier Management
    • Ownership of relationships with key Patch suppliers and logistics partners, as well as tracking the flow of goods throughout our supply chain
    • You will liaise with partners to ensure we have a suitable delivery profile
    • Stock Location Management
    • You will manage the effective use of space in the warehouse for our entire range of plants and hard goods, ensuring a safe working environment
    • Work with the FC managers to optimise the shelving locations and presentation of stock
    • Complete daily review of the quality of stock and replenishment
    • Team Leadership
    • Coordination of temporary staff to complete stock control tasks in a timely and accurate manner
    • Lead by example and operate within the team tasks.
    • Use of metrics to report on individual stock control performance and review these with the team.
    • Continuous Improvement
    • You will work with our FC manager to test and implement new processes in the FC which will be focussed on improving our stock control and unit economics.
    • Develop new inventory processes and systems to improve our picking efficiency
    • Reporting:
    • Maintain our high standards in data capture and stock reporting
    • Work with our retail team to diagnose and reporting issues and develop dashboards to illustrate our stock control performance and accuracy

    What experience, skills and traits do I need?

    • Experience in a warehouse and logistics role, preferably in e-commerce and working knowledge of inventory management
    • Experience in driving operational KPIs with a clear track record of delivering results
    • Demonstrable experience of motivating and driving an ‘agency’ operations workforce and have excellent people and communication skills
    • A passion for data and using it to solve a business problem in an operations context
    • Competency using Excel/Google sheets and able to understand complex spreadsheets
    • A quick learner who can dive into new tools and be comfortable working with them
    • Strong communication and Dutch and English speaking
    • Organisation and composure under pressure, with the ability to meet difficult seasonal peaks, workloads and deadlines
    • Ability to work a daily flexible routine, involving weekends and night shifts
    • Experience in direct-to-customer network operations.
    • Ability to proactively drive process improvements.
