As a Platform SRE, you will ensure that the designed solution meets non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security, and maintainability. They also work with release engineers to ensure that the software delivery pipeline is as efficient as possible.
Your focus will be on operations engineering, focusing on incident prevention, automation frameworks, self-service infrastructure, logging and metrics, and operational dashboards.
You will need to use tools such as: logging, monitoring, event management, notification, runbook automation, ChatOps, root cause analysis, etc.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Maintain the site or service assigned to you in good working order or promptly restore it to working order in the event of a failure.
Work closely with partners and internal teams to ensure that our infrastructure meets security, SLA and performance requirements
Write, update documentation
Automate tasks, including infrastructure requirements, testing, failover solutions, failure mitigation, and more
Debug complex problems across an entire plant and create solid solutions
Develop CI/CD processes to improve throughput
Occasional customer trips are to be expected in France.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
More than 3 years’ experience in software engineering, software development or systems operation
Know how a Unix/Linux shell works, write shell scripts and understand the internal functions of Linux
Experience in debugging complex problems
Experience in the design, construction and operation of large-scale production systems
Has practical experience in the use of source control (such as Git, GitHub)
Working knowledge of one or more virtualization technologies: Citrix hypervisor, VMware vSphere, Ubuntu KVM, etc.
Programming languages, such as: Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Java and Go
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in DevOps or SRE engineering
Experience with containers, such as Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift
Experience in monitoring and observability, e.g. with New Relic, Prometheus, or Sysdig
Experience in infrastructure automation, configuration management, testing and deployment using tools such as Ansible, Chef and can explain the As Code infrastructure paradigm
A good understanding of the various infrastructure platforms and infrastructure concepts is required.
Knowledge of managing and securing a distributed Windows Server and/or Linux environment
Knowledge of public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
