    Sr. Lead, Transportation Management

    Position Summary

    The purpose of this role is to develop the EMEA transportation strategy and establish the relationship with the right EMEA transportation carriers (parcel, LTL, and TL) both inbound and outbound flows to the EMEA region. This in order to achieve business goals in regards to the on time rate to our customer and financial performance.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement the EMEA freight strategy that et UA up for success in the next 3-5 years
    • Develop and grow the relationship of our parcel, LTL, TL, and retail pool carriers in the EMEA region.
    • Tender, Negotiate, Select and implement new carriers with the competitive rate structures or better service levels
    • Work with finance to budget the appropriate spend for the EMEA business on a quarterly/yearly basis.
    • Be first point of contact for UA global freight team regarding inbound and outbound transportation topics.
    • Manage and lead the 2-3 EMEA Freight team mates in their daily/weekly activities
    • Works with IT to problem solve, test, and implement solutions that will fix inefficiencies in our systems that delay our current processes.
    • Core Capabilities
    • 20-30M USD in Freight costs as a yearly budget
    • Tendering , RFQ, RFP processes with external freight partners
    • Creating and implementing an EMEA Freight Strategy for UA
    • Self starter, being able to delivering projects with minimal supervision of oversight from leadership is required.
    • Being able to identify and implement processes, daily/weekly or monthly cadence that can benefit from optimilzation, either in:
    • data sharing with xternal partners
    • reporting, dasborard
    • invoicing checks
    • Global UA functional leadership,
    • EMEA business leadership team, MT, Sales and Finance teams,
    • EMEA SC team mates
    • 3PL partners, UPS, Fedex, Ceva, Geodis, DSV, K&N, DHL, Post NL
    • Global & regional Directors in legal, procurement, audit, risk

    Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

    • Knowledge and Experience
    • Minimal Bachelor, prefer a Masters
    • 10+ years
    • Driving license
    • APICS, Lean or supply chain course a plus
    • Communication
    • Negotiations
    • Analytics
    • Travel may be required.
    • Experience in Freight industry is a must
    • Experience in Managing 3PL partners is a plus
