Job Purpose
We are having 2 openings for a Sourcing Specialist Logistics: 1 for NW Europe located in Sassenheim Netherlands and 1 for SE Europe & MEA located preferably in Barcelona Spain.
This position is responsible for AkzoNobel's logistics sourcing and category management for a selection of sub-categories in a geographical area (country, sub-region, region), including sourcing strategies deployment, spend management, supplier base management and performance improvement, ensuring lowest TCO level, and providing regional or logistics sub-category market and supplier management expertise to AkzoNobel to ensure uninterrupted and timely supply against optimum & benchmarked costs based on agreed business requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Implementing sourcing activities in the assigned geographical area or sub-category in alignment with the global category’s objectives and Source processes, such as:
- Deploying applicable local/regional sourcing strategies or contributing to global sourcing strategies definition as the local/regional sourcing representative
- Supplier selection, negotiation and improvement for his/her portfolio
- Responsible for the supplier relationship management in his/her area of responsibility, ensuring mutually beneficial supplier relationships and collaboration at all organizational levels
- Responsible for contract management: contract development, approval, implementation and maintenance
- Acting as key-interface between sourcing and regional RD&I teams (supplier innovation pipeline optimization, contribution to New Product Introduction support, VE projects generation)
- Developing a rich pipeline of Logistics TCO reduction projects per AkzoNobel Sourcing Financial objectives, and drive project maturing until execution by regional logistics team(s)
- Local/Regional logistics markets expertise, monitoring and forecasting; including insights and forecasting as required by budgeting/forecasting/reporting processes, and translation of new developments/concepts from the market into new opportunities Managing supply risk for his/her area, and supporting escalated supply issues resolution
- Upon assignment by the Sourcing Director: KSM for key global supplier(s) based in his/her geographical area of responsibility; global category management of a subcategory
- Represent the global category in regional cross-functional forums and programs
- Benchmarking current and future pricing, maintaining up to date cost models
- Become the recognized specialist / category manager for a specific logistics mode/sub-category concentrated in his/her region, coordinating best practice within the region and across other regions
Experience & Qualifications
- 5 years in a procurement, supply chain, purchasing, or sourcing function with relevant experience in negotiating and managing suppliers
- Degree in Supply Chain or other relevant discipline or equivalent qualification
- Strong MS Office, ERP system (SAP). Experience in Sourcing optimization applications (eg Coupa) is advantageous
- Relevant experience in negotiating, contracting and managing Logistics in different parts of the region and the different sub-segments of Logistics (Transport – Road / Sea / Air / Expedite & Warehousing)
- Experience in deploying sourcing strategies and integrating into supplier strategies is a plus
- Must have a strong command and understanding of fundamental analytical techniques, and ability to accurately draw conclusions and interpret data. Six Sigma certification is a plus
- Proven success in driving supplier cost, quality and delivery performance improvement programs
- Understanding of the regional logistics category, suppliers, cost drivers, market trends and technologies
- Experience in defining and executing supply chain / sourcing strategies
- Relevant international and cross-cultural management experience
