Our capability area, Sales & Payment, is responsible for providing the most convenient purchase experience towards our customers, providing delight in every interaction. We have high ambitions where we want to redefine the checkout (both the sales and the payment part) both online and instore. You will join the Payments area with focus on the Financial Services products that we offer to the many people.
In IKEA Financial Services, we want to challenge the status quo and the one-size fits all approach to financing. We want to democratize financial freedom by giving more of the many people a better life at home, no matter the size of the wallet.

To achieve that, we must lay a strong foundation that will allow us to make informed decisions, grow steadily and create financial products that cater for the need of the many people. We also want to provide easy-to-use services to our customers and make payments frictionless.
WHAT WOULD WE ASK FROM YOU?
You love coding. You have a curious nature and actively acquire new knowledge, skills, champion new methods, digital systems and processes to improve performance. Doing so, will enable you to change direction based on new ideas, approaches and strategies. You will be empowered to work agile and with continuous improvements within the software engineering function. To achieve our common goals we encourage simplicity, efficiency, ownership and accountability. This makes you easy to collaborate with.
You will develop financial microservices in 30 markets that integrates with bank APIs in each market and design web APIs for our frontend engineers. We use Google Cloud Platform and we only use their serverless infrastructure. You will take full ownership of your code, operations, security, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Each microservice is a product and we have full responsibility of them. Therefore, there is a requirement of also being on-call duty when needed. We take part in requirements gathering and stakeholder communication with banks and other product teams inside IKEA.
To be successful as a Software Engineer you have advanced training in computer science or similar experience through keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise. In addition, you have experience in working in an Agile and DevOps working set-up. You get energized by delivering high quality software in an agile environment.
As a Software Engineer for the Financial Services team, you will have all the required skillsets:
You have a proven track record of delivering high-quality code and is passionate about continuous improvement and delivery.
You have applied software engineering practices with an agile development approach including validation and verification testing.
You have displayed ownership of the systems you, and your team, developed by designing, deploying, and dealing with operations.
You are a team player in an agile setup.
Design web APIs in REST style.
Go programming language.
Functional and automated testing, continuous integration and delivery.
As a Software Engineer for the Financial Services team, you will have some of these desirable skillsets:
You have experience designing scalable systems in a microservice environment.
You are not afraid to test new technologies and processes to evolve the quality of the services owned by you and the team.
You are passionate about customers and champion their needs.
You have experience mentoring and growing engineers around you.
You have a get stuff done attitude, sharing your opinions, defend them when needed and likes to share knowledge.
You have experience in the Payments domain.
You have experience in an e-commerce environment.
NoSQL databases (we use Datastore)
Google Cloud Platform (GCP); we use all of Googles serverless infrastructure.
DevOps tools and methods.
