What does the role involve?
We present you with the opportunity to join the Controlling Team at the EMEA headquarters in Hilversum in what is probably the most diverse and energetic Company in the area. As our SG&A Accountant, you will use your talent to contribute to the successes in this fast changing and innovative area within the organization.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly translate complex business transactions into accurate and compliant accounting, while explaining these to stakeholders in simple language. A successful candidate is not afraid to crunch numbers in SAP, execute a variety of operational tasks, and contribute special expertise. Beside closing the books, your focus is on optimizing processes to free up time to work on new challenging projects.
You will join a diverse accounting team that looks after the accounting of 2 business models, both wholesale and retail. You will do this together with your colleagues on campus, globally at our World Headquarters in Portland, Oregon, and other geographies, plus territories across EMEA.
Ensure complete and accurate accounting of our day to day operations in accordance with US GAAP with a strong focus on the SG&A accounting
Be a collaborative partner with various teams (Capex, Opex, Leases, Demand Creation) to ensure monthly accounting entries are complete, accurate, recorded timely and properly reconciled
Operating in an evolving landscape, drive process improvements and be a change agent to optimize our processes to increase our flexibility, speed, and value creation to our stakeholders
Cooperate with external parties in reference to the SG&A area needs
Perform period close activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews with a strong focus on SG&A accounts and opportunities in other functional areas
Be our accounting representative in cross-functional project teams and drive success
Drive self-improvement and continuous learning through coaching and feedback
Take ownership and deliver against both personal and team goal

Bachelor’s degree or Master Degree in Accounting
Several years of accounting experience (e.g. FMCG, retail or Big 4)
Fluency in English language
Self-starter with the ability to analyze data and find stories behind the numbers
Strong interpersonal skills & ability to communicate at all levels of the business
