You will help us create a group that is dedicated to creating a development culture that mirrors the togetherness and caring of the rest of IKEA, with an emphasis on psychological safety and humility. You will be amongst the first in a team responsible for innovating on products that help IKEA move over €2 billion a year in online sales from warehouses to delivery trucks.
You will have the opportunity to lead your colleagues in sustainable software development. You will own the technical choices alongside other senior developers in the team. There will be plenty of growth opportunities, as we expand and mature, either towards people management or towards being a high-level individual contributor. And in your journey you will have an actively supportive manager in your career goals, whatever they may be.
To be successful as a Software Engineer you have advanced training in computer science or similar experience through keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise. You have five or more years of software development experience, including at least two different companies. In addition, you have demonstrable experience in working in an Agile and DevOps working set-up, are skilled in at least one flavor of SQL as well as at least one cloud provider.
Having experience with at least two programming languages; a compiled language and an interpreted language would be preferable. Microservice architecture, containerization, orchestration, concurrency and fault tolerance are some of the technical skills we value, as well.
The specific technologies and languages you know are less important than the ability to pick up new frameworks and explore: we want to use the best tools for the job. We are creating the greenfield out of an existing system, so it is important to have multiple experiences.
Experience with a professional multi-cultural setting is a plus, as is previous experience doing integrations. Any form of logistics experience, especially around physical goods would be a bonus.
