Senior Manager, Customer segment marketing
How would you make an impact?
The Senior Manager, Customer Segment Marketing is responsible for developing the strategic direction for relevant business segments to achieve the Research and Safety Division (RSD) Europe revenue plan. He/she will drive the strategy and marketing plan development and how it is executed. It includes the alignment of customer requirements with the capabilities of RSD to deliver a differentiated segment value proposition represented by a portfolio of products and services. The Senior Manager, Customer Segment Marketing is also responsible for partnering with Product Management, Sales, Marketing Operations & Commercial Communication, Events Digital Marketing and other key functions in order to support integrated selling efforts that increase market share and provide sales tools.
What will you do?
Manage the Customer Segment Marketing team as a Role Model Leader: being accountable for the engagement, performance, compensation and the development of the team via coaching.
Drives the development of the European Annual Segment Strat Plan for all Customer Segments in collaboration with the Sales leader, Segment Sales, Inside Sales, Business Development and Portfolio Management; partners with Marketing leadership to develop a resource plan in AOP to support the strategies.
Drives the conception of segment, customer-based marketing initiatives in order to generate incremental revenue and margin.
Closely works with the different Segment Sales directors to prioritize accounts & develop strategic approaches for different account types.
Drives continuous management and optimization of marketing tools (direct/indirect), based on specific metrics in order to identify best practices to expand and non-profitable activities to stop.
Set strategy in market segments and customer analysis, market research, developing, coordinating and executing marketing campaigns and programs through all relevant channels (e.g.: sales, digital marketing, social, SEM, events,…) in order to allow us to deliver meaningful results.
Create a “digital first” mentality with the segment teams and help to turn the investments in technology into profit for the organization Continuously review our positioning approach and techniques
Ensures an open and regular communication with the Category Management and Sales leadership teams. Collates feedback and adjust strategic approach when needed.
Aligns customer requirements with the capabilities of Thermo Fisher Scientific in order to deliver a differentiated value proposition represented by a portfolio of products and services.
Creates value added bundled offerings of products and services and the appropriate marketing and sales support tools.
Liaise with cross divisional partners and develop common initiatives to ensure the development, execution and alignment of commercial strategies that supports the profitable growth of the corporation’s products & the strengthening of its brand in appropriate markets.
How will you get there?
Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or a scientific field. An advanced degree in business or science is preferred.
Extensive experience with direct supervisory and/or team leadership experience. Remote management skills, or team leadership across a multi-country environment is strongly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal, customer orientation and problem solving, can-do attitude
Multi-tasking experience and flexibility to address immediate priorities and still manage deadlines with longer-term projects and strategic initiatives.
Demonstrable capacity to understand the complex nature of the markets in which Thermo Fisher operate.
Demonstrable record of achievement in a role and or organization which was subject to change.
E-commerce experience is desired
Fluent English, a second European language is desirable.
Willingness to travel 25%, some international is expected.
