    Senior IRM Connectivity Analyst

    The Role

By taking greater control over key aspects of connectivity we can provide our users with better user experience, speed and agility, while maintaining operational effectiveness and efficiency. As a result, we are building a partially insourced and multi-vendor ecosystem for our connectivity products and services and will be developing new skills and capabilities. Shell established a new IT hub in Bangalore and is scaling it up over a five-year period.     What’s the role?

    As a Senior IRM Connectivity Analyst, your responsibilities will include:
    • Provide connectivity (telecoms) technical and Information Risk management (IRM) advice and consultancy to ITSO IRM’s cyber operations and associated development projects which involves high- and low-level technical analysis and complex problem solving.
    • Delivery, under managerial control, of ITSO IRM according to jointly agreed business objectives and criteria on cost and timing, and meeting high quality standards of content and presentation;
    • Application of deep IRM and technical knowledge and experience to problems and processes involving IT systems and associated networks, demonstrating an understanding of the issues and business improvement requirements of the client organisation and proposing viable solutions within the scope of own expertise, taking into account the needs of those affected;
    • Planning, designing, and ensuring the overall IRM and technical integrity of the delivery of IT infrastructure, with associated requirements analysis and modelling, through the application of acquired technical knowledge and experience to differing environments and business conditions;
    • Coordination with associated functions, effective communication with stakeholders and technical leadership of small teams, assuming responsibility and authority for decision making within own area of expertise that will have a significant medium to long term effect on the client organisation;
    • Effective working in multi-specialist teams, having enough IRM knowledge to understand the relevance and relative importance of own specialist area and other areas and often planning and managing their work. Working effectively with client staff, securing their involvement, confidence, and co-operation in executing assignments, generating their buy-in and ownership of the work performed;
    • Providing advice on the selection of appropriate technical strategies, policies, standards, resources, methods and tools for systems/networks and service development including the technical aspects of configuration management methods, system security requirements, the operational and maintenance aspects of systems and networks under development, and proposed system recovery procedures;
    • Developing and presenting written standards and guidelines, as appropriate;
    • Conduct of technical reviews, security reviews, security breach investigations and business risk assessments, recommending appropriate action to management and seeking guidance from more experienced or specialised practitioners as required;
    • Adherence to closely defined practices, procedures and standards for infrastructure support, security (confidentiality, integrity and availability), systems development, implementation & testing as set by policy or precedent, contributing to the development of such standards and providing advice and guidance on their application and operation;
    • Undertakes assignments outside own area of expertise. Forms a view as to how assignments can be carried out. Plans, monitors and controls activities as necessary. Carries out research to assimilate necessary knowledge. Seeks and obtains relevant expertise as appropriate;
    • Carries out full IT infrastructure impact analysis of new software releases and recommends upgrade plans. Reviews upgrades and fixes available from system software suppliers and identifies those which merit action, verifying that operational documentation is fit for purpose and current;
    • Providing advice and guidance to systems development and service delivery staff on the correct and effective use of system software. Investigates potential and actual service problems and recommends solutions. Develops and uses formal procedures to plan and test proposed solutions.
    • Provides advice and coaching to client staff and to consultant colleagues, transferring skills and expertise.


    What we need from you?
    • Solid experience in corporate IT specifically in Systems or Network Engineering and Infrastructure Consulting experience;
    • Proven track record in Connectivity or Network Security;
    • Preferably with relevant Cybersecurity certifications: Cisco CCNP Security Certification, GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), or GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA).
