Senior Director Technical Operations – Large Molecule
As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing leadership as well as strategic and tactical direction to Engineering and Process Science Resources and Activities in support of the Large Molecule Make platform or to Technical Operations Leadership Members and its Key Stakeholders. Furthermore, you will be accountable for appropriate resources allocation in order to meet platform goals.
Your principal responsibilities will be
The definition and ownership of the platform-based manufacturing model
To develop and deploy technology standards and its applications through assets, processes and products
The provision of technical leadership for Life-Cycle Management
To partners with R&D for manufacturing strategy and new development platforms
To provide expertise and resources to global New Product Introduction through TLI function as well as to External Manufacturing related to the Large Molecule Platform
To take ownership in executing Initiatives and projects related to network reconfiguration, major cost improvement programs and the implementation of new capabilities and capacity
To Contribute to business planning strategies in partnership with VP Manufacturing Platform and to translate business goals into Platform objectives
To be responsible for the approval and monitoring of the Technical Operations Platform budget and to investigate and take steps to resolve significant variances.
To act as a coach & mentor and to provide developmental opportunities to staff. Furthermore, you evaluate performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
You will be responsible to develop relationships with Key Stakeholders, like Site GM’s, R&D, Platforms leadership and Quality.
Furthermore, you will be an active member of the Technical Operations Leadership Team, the Large Molecule Platform Leadership Team and a member of the Sterility Assurance Leadership Team.
The successful candidate will be an integer person with a high level of self-awareness and adaptability. As an intellectual curious member of the team, he/she will have a Big Picture Orientation whilst keeping attention to details. Sense of urgency and prudent risk taking are two other key required competencies as well as strong collaboration and teaming skills.
PhD or master’s degree in Natural Sciences/Pharmacy with 15+ years related experience overall with past proven field experience in the following areas:
Dosage Forms Development and Engineering, Manufacturing and Primary Packaging
API Manufacturing and Purification for small/large molecules
Facility and Utilities Engineering and Management
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
Business Unit Management
Languages: Fluent in written and spoken English
Work Location: Switzerland, Schaffhausen or one of the key LM platform sites such as Cork, Leiden or Malvern
