Your role
The primary objective for this role are to secure product supply in time, right quality and optimal cost for a subset of our Third Party Operations (TPO) EU supply network, and to work on longer term optimization strategies
Key responsibilities:
- Lead a cross functional team with members representing Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement, MS&T and ad hoc members where necessary, as a virtual plant management team
- Lead and manage supplier/business conflicts and constructively lead conflict resolution
- Identify and create continuous improvement plans for all key supplier relationships in the assigned portfolio
- Analyze business requirements and provide input to the sourcing organization to build supplier specific negotiation strategies; analyze today’s suppliers for relationships in the future
- Understand your suppliers, develop tactics (scenarios, approaches, understand high value products you want to de-risk, risk mitigation plans and similar activities)
- Individual coaching and development of cross functional team members
- Manage supplier performance; put improvement plans in place when necessary; ensure effective execution of plans to meet business needs
- Establish partnership with Business Development and/or R&D teams to insure proper operations engagement in all sourcing activities
- Provide dedicated account management, contract management and supplier governance for major supplier relationships in collaboration with the supporting functions
- Proactively seek opportunities to continuously build rapport and partnership with third parties working with Commercial, business development, R&D and Total Global Operations
- Collaborate with Procurement in negotiation of applicable contracts and develop supplier strategy; identify, evaluate, select and manage external partners
- Participate in development of License and Supply Agreements by providing input into contract negotiation strategies/Recommend contract changes as appropriate
- Ensure regular review framework in in place and executed
Your profile
Knowledge:
- 15+ years of experience in supplier management, knowledge of industry and best practices in Supply Chain and Third Party Management
- Good technical knowledge and/or manufacturing experience is desirable
- Excellent understanding of the marketplace and industry best practices
- Experience in building relationships both internally and externally, including establishing solid relationships in the Pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of suppliers
- Fluency in English
Skills/qualifications:
- Master’s degree, ideally in Pharmacy, Economics, Logistics or related
- MBA preferred
- Proven executive-level communication and relationship skills and advanced presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and in ambiguity to work and lead in a matrix environment
- Strong analytical skills for both data and written documents
- Be capable to manage day-to-day issues, as well as set strategic directions, in a complex environment
Job conditions:
- International travel (approximately 15-20%)
