Team & Technology
We are forming a new product team that will focus on improving our ‘paid acquisition’ efforts related to acquiring demand (a.k.a homeowners with jobs to be done) on our marketplace. An example of a paid acquisition is buying an advertisement on google (via google adwords) for upper funnel keywords such as “install an air conditioner”, “find a painter in amsterdam” etc.
As a Data Scientist, you will be a part of the newly formed ‘Paid acquisition’ team, together with other backend and frontend engineers, a user experience specialist, an agile coach, a business analyst, and a product manager. Our marketing department will be a key internal stakeholder of this team.
Within this team, you will use your analytics, advanced data science and machine learning skills to build effective models and measure their efficiency. You will also support the experiments from hypothesis to analysis and interpretation.
You will also be part of the data guild, collaborating with other data scientists, data engineers and data analysts across the company to align on the data strategy, development standards, and exchange knowledge and experience.
Join a cross functional team that aims to support and boost our paid marketing strategy
Contribute to build an automated campaign management system
Use data intelligence (revenue prediction models, measure incremental performance of campaigns, identify the right keywords…) to improve the performance of our marketing campaigns
Drive innovation by using recent advances in machine learning, imagining new experiment methodologies and statistical techniques
Work with the product owner to understand user goals and requirements alongside stakeholders and customers
Summarise and communicate conclusions and solutions to analytic and non-analytic stakeholders
Your skills and experience
You have 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
You have 2+ years of experience in marketing analytics with a proven track record of delivering projects from conception to production Advanced skills in analytics, statistics, building experiments and A/B testing
You have advanced Python skills (including clean and well-tested implementations)
You have an understanding of digital media (social, search, display)
You have familiarity with marketing tracking platforms (mainly Google Ads)
Advanced SQL skills
You apply software engineering principles to your projects by writing maintainable, testable and documented code
You are a team player who contributes to a collaborative atmosphere
You are reliable, communicative and business-minded

Our Product, Technology and UX department currently consists of 4 tracks and approximately 100 professionals, from all over the world: Brazil, Canada, India, France, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, The Netherlands, South Africa, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Turkey, the UK, and the USA. Each track focuses on the most valuable opportunity within their given scope. Within the tracks, multidisciplinary product development teams collaborate on achieving the goals that they set and commit to each quarter. Special note related to COVID-19
We will be hiring mostly through online video interviews. In-person interviews can be scheduled for candidates in the Amsterdam area, with the agreement of both parties. The position is based in Amsterdam and requires relocation to the Netherlands. Note that in-line with the current government (RIVM) recommendations, we are currently working from home. We will do our best to make the on-boarding as smooth as possible and help you get up-to-speed.
