    Senior Compliance Officer

    ING is looking for a Compliance officer ING Neo

    We are building an integrated high quality Innovation risk team for ING Neo in order to ensure that ING can launch the products and services of tomorrow whilst complying with applicable law and regulation. We work across geographies and business lines and are creative in finding solutions for initiatives that are new and disruptive.

    A senior Compliance expert is needed to provide adequate advise and challenge the ING Neo Innovation initiatives as the complexity of the activities in scope is significant. Activities are often conducted in unchartered territory which means that it requires strong assessment, monitoring and advise capabilities as well as keeping the alignment with the standing organization in case of integration in existing business processes. Next to the diversity in jurisdictions and stakeholders, the activities cover a range of existing, changing and new products as well. The senior Compliance expert needs to be capable of connecting the dots effectively in a challenging environment, making risk assessments under time pressure and knowing which other experts may need to be involved. In addition we conduct second line monitoring to make sure we have a safe and compliant environment for ING Neo.

    The compliance officer provides advice on projects on the initiatives in the Labs and scale ups and ensures quality assurance, 2nd line monitoring and reporting is done for the ING Neo domain.

    Job function name - Officer Non-Financial Risk A

    1. Creating awareness of compliance risks and the consequences of external legislation and regulations with ING Neo staff

    2. Advising, challenging and advising innovation initiative leads on how to limit these compliance risks, translating the relevant legislation and regulations into rules and controls governing the internal business operations

    3. Advising, challenging and monitoring of the implementation and application of the relevant rules and controls to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations and relevant Policies and Minimum Standards

    What we are looking for?


    • Detailed knowledge of ING Compliance Charter and Framework and relevant policies

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Compliance Risk Management or relevant functions within the banking industry;

    • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written;

    • Excellent writing skills;

    • Ability to quickly analyze data/compliance processes/compliance practices, draw conclusions and make recommendations;

    • Ability to negotiate and convince stakeholders;

    • Team player able to challenge and sound board with other team members;

    • Thorough understanding of compliance relevant legislation and regulations, international trends and industry developments;

    • A university degree or comparable experience and skills

    • Possess a ‘can do’ approach, passion for the business, and drive for results.

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

    • Evaluate ING policy applicability and specific regulation and their impact on internal ING Neo processes and initiatives working closely with Legal and Non Financial Risk;

    • Collaborate on identifying the internal control system and procedures aimed at preventing and combating the applicable risks;

    • Check the suitability of the internal control system and the procedures for the innovation initiatives and proposes the organizational and procedural changes required or appropriate in order to guarantee suitable risk measures;

    • Participate in working groups to identify solutions together with stakeholders outside ING Neo.

    • Report information that Management needs to know, including information on key compliance risk issues, monitoring results, emerging trends, status of policy embedding, lessons learned and any other relevant or necessary information;

    • Develop lessons learned to ensure the business learns from incidents and implement controls to prevent future occurrences;

    • Foster the mutual functional relationship with the colleagues in Corporate Compliance Risk Management by open and transparent communication and follow up on requests.
