    Senior Business Continuity Manager - Commercial Operations

    The Business Continuity Manager will devise, build and implement a business continuity function and framework and deliver a standardized approach for incident management within commercial operations and beyond, ensuring we continue to provide the best customer and partner experience possible. You will be given the responsibility to ensure business risks are managed and mitigated, and appropriate business continuity plans are developed, tested and deployed.

    The role demands expertise at varying levels of capability, from the initial visioning, strategising and creation of the function and the supporting complex stakeholder mapping and engagement, all the way down to daily operation and execution.

    Ensuring we remain operational, mitigate business impact and safeguard our reputation in case disruptive events take place, such as natural disasters, political unrest, cyber threats and human error is at the core of this role.

    The Business Continuity Manager takes a lead role in the Global crisis management team in set situations and represents Commercial Operations in incidents. You need to be able to oversee situations quickly and drive the execution of business continuity strategies across multiple departments and stakeholders whilst remaining in the driving seat.

    In this senior role you will manage a small team you will build, based in Amsterdam and across global com ops as required. You will own your own budget and be a key part of the global service delivery function and the wider WFM unit. Your working hours will include evenings and weekends depending on whenever incidents occur.

    Your team will function as a center of expertise, ensuring that business continuity plans are developed, implemented and maintained in a sustainable way without depending on individuals. Your function will orchestrate and oversee the successful execution of these business continuity and resilience plans, by providing tools, playbooks, stress tests and industry standard methodologies and you will ensure that these are adopted and embedded in Comm Ops. You maintain a close connection with Corporate Security to ensure synchronization with the corporate BC program.


    • Creation & leadership of a new BCP team with appropriate vision, values and mission
    • Creation & maintenance of the required stakeholder map and engagement action
    • Keep our partners and customers at the center of everything we do, and ensure they always have a positive experience during a crisis
    • Influence, persuade and engage at a senior level to ensure we move forward on topics that are not frontline interest to most until things to wrong
    • Implement and maintain Business Continuity framework for commercial operations that is partner and customer-centric and considers all internal and external forces our company may be exposed to
    • Create a clear communication structure to engage with all business units on the BC framework
    • Provide continuity with a risk-based approach, being factual and data-driven
    • Incident management, monitoring and action planning
    • Monitor and guide post-incident processes
    • Take the lead on implementing process improvements from incident reviews liaising with key stakeholders in other business units and functions.
    • You will be pro-actively working on these processes with other Global Support teams on guidance towards our operations, customers and partners when an incident or crisis occurs.
    • Develop a programme for carrying out exercises both actual and sandbox to test resilience and create awareness


    • 7+ years of experience in the field of Business Continuity
    • 10+ years of experience managing people
    • Background in program management/consultancy that includes operating in a large scale complex environment
    • Strong time management, detail oriented and organizational skills
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrated track record of defining initiatives and leading them from start to finish on a global scope
    • Ability to deliver briefings and compelling arguments to senior management
    • Think strategically and operate practically
    • Fully comfortable working in English, both written and spoken
    • Ability to operate in a fast pace, dynamic and stressful environment
    • BCI, BSI or DRII industry certifications are a plus
