    About the position of Scrum Master

    As a scrum master, you will play an important role in maturing the agile mindset and practices of individuals and teams within the Omnichannel department at de Bijenkorf. You will help the multidisciplinary teams to focus on building digital products and services in line with de Bijenkorf's vision and strategy. We are looking for an individual who embraces the agile mindset, but knows how to adapt it to the context. With your strong communication skills and sensitivity for the needs of your colleagues you will guide individuals and teams on their journey towards delivering their best work.

    De Bijenkorf is a market leader in luxury retail and thanks to its multi-channel strategy there are opportunities for you to:

    • Further mature the agile way of working for the teams who are already working with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban);
    • Facilitate an environment that supports teams to grow and operate at their best;
    • Ensure alignment as we scale;
    • Maximise business impact;
    • Collaborate with experts in their field;
    • Coach team leads / management in servant leadership.

    In order to perform well in this role you will have an ear to the ground and be alert to verbal and non verbal communication. You will leverage your experience in agile / lean tools to address the needs of individuals, teams and the organisation.

    A day could consist of you observing the daily stand up of a team, after which you might need to help identify obstacles and come up with a plan to remove them soon as possible. You could be coaching during a refinement ensuring that the session is productive by encouraging the team to challenge each other on the scope of the task and that a team is "ready" to be scoped for a future iteration. In the afternoon you will join another team in a review with stakeholders during which there will be an opportunity to collect feedback and make important decisions about the team's deliverables and quarterly features. You might end the day with a meeting to align with your peers and present cases that you need assistance with.

    Other activities include, but are not limited to:

    • Facilitating agile ceremonies, such as a sprint planning or retrospective;
    • Mediating brainstorm sessions in collaboration with product owners, UX designers or other stakeholders;
    • Creating and implementing team building activities like Team Canvas and Skills Matrix;
    • Giving trainings on agile / lean methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).

    We are offering the opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing department in a fun and creative E-commerce environment. De Bijenkorf will invest in your personal and professional development along with your wellbeing by offering internal and external trainings that support your growth. You will work with teams that have reached different levels of agile maturity ranging from immature to mature. The retail environment offers unique challenges and we can guarantee chances for you to sharpen your skills whilst learning from your peers.

    • Have completed a Bachelor level education;
    • Are a Certified Agile Practitioner (PMI-ACP) with either Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM II) certification;
    • Have 2+ years professional experience in a scrum master role;
    • Have a proven track record of coaching individuals and teams;
    • Are receptive to changing needs;
    • Are a good listener;
    • Have strong analytical and problem solving skills;
    • Are proactive and take the initiative;
    • Enjoy working with people from different nationalities/cultures;
    • Are fluent in English and Dutch (both written and spoken);
    • Have an affinity with technology;
    • Having experience with scaling agile and lean is a bonus
    • Have a fun, creative and international work environment;
    • Will offer you a market conforming salary and excellent secondary benefits including generous holiday allowance;
    • Will invest in your personal and professional development;
    • Are ambitious and have clear objectives that we want to achieve.
