As a Scientist you are involved in technology innovation projects from idea to business start, either as specialist or as project leader. This challenging role requires a combination of knowledge of the internal organization, a solid knowledge base, project leader skills and capabilities to effectively connect the external network. You will report to the R&D Department Manager Product & Application Development of Teijin Aramid. Your primary workplace is situated in Arnhem, The Netherlands.
Your key responsibilities
Initiate opportunities for future growth of Teijin in Sustainability;
Work in close connection with Corporate Research and Development teams within Teijin to meet the ESTIC goals;
Build a European network of R&D third parties in the fields of Environment and Sustainability.
To be successful in this role you have a MSc / PhD degree preferably in the field of (bio-)organic chemistry and preferably 5 years of working expertise in the field of sustainability. Expertise in Biorefinery is a pre. You can clearly demonstrate your passion for innovation and sustainability. Additionally, you have/are:
Strong knowledge base and the ability to grow;
Preferably a background in polymer synthesis, electrochemistry or materials processing;
Out of the Box thinking style but capability to conclude or converge;
Self-motivated, independent, pioneering spirit and change agent;
An entrepreneur, with a keen eye to translate science to business;
Team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (fluent in English);
Sense of humor!
About Teijin ESTIC
The European Sustainable Technology Research Innovation Center (ESTIC) has been initiated to accelerate the efforts of the Teijin group in the area of Environmental Solutions. The focus is on the end-user perspective and to create, deliver and capture value via integration of own and externally developed technologies. Solutions are developed by leveraging the full portfolio and competences across the Teijin Group in cooperation with start-ups, established companies and institutions. ESTIC reports directly to Teijin’s Material Technology Center in Japan.
