    Scientist, Molecular Design

    Genmab is focused on the creation and development of innovative and differentiated antibody products, with the aim of improving the lives of cancer patients.

    Your new team at Genmab

    You will be part of the Research Materials department. A close connection of four teams that together focus on fueling Genmab’s discovery pipeline by supplying the base elements for the projects: (eg Antibodies, proteins and (tumor-) cells. Our challenge is to deliver these at predictable and fast timelines and high user-friendliness.

    This vacancy is part of the Cell and Molecular Design team, providing molecular biology expertise to the research organization and focus on delivering antibody leads to other expert teams, who will lead further characterizations and development.

    We are looking for an ambitious colleague with a scientific background to join us as a new team leader of the Molecular Design team.

    Your new role

    You will be responsible for motivating, leading, and managing members of the Molecular Design team. The team currently consists of 5 professionals and is still growing. Next to managing the team, and its output, you will liaise with project scientists, project managers, and other expertise teams in and outside the department to coordinate the planning and the priorities. Although you will be working in a scientific setting, your core responsibilities will be focused on leading the team, and collaborating and connecting with relevant stakeholders inside Genmab.

    Overall, your main responsibilities include:

    • You represent the Molecular Science expertise within our Research Materials department and play a key role in the supply of a diverse range of molecular tools to other groups

    • You motivate and lead a team of research associates with whom you will align with respect to planning and prioritization.

    • You have experience in automation and data handling.

    • You proactively propose new technologies for the optimization and innovation of the Cell and Molecular Design team’s processes that contribute to increase the group’s efficiency

    • You review data, and oversee that the documentation and processing of results by your team is of the right quality and assure that there are no backlogs. You write reports and present them in relevant meetings.

    More specifically, we ask the following of you:

    • A PhD degree in Molecular or (Cell) Biology, Biotechnology or Biochemistry is a plus

    • You have already some experience leading a team

    • You have a broad knowledge of and experience within the field of molecular antibody drug discovery

    • You are a self-critical thinker with an eye for detail and you have excellent problem-solving skills

    • You have a quality mindset and able to prioritize your work in a fast paced and changing environment

    • You have strong communication skills, and you are proactive

    • You are flexible and capable of running several tasks parallel to each other and adjusting priorities appropriately together with and for the team

    • You recognize the importance of working according to the agreed research based Quality System, which includes adhering to procedures and detailed documentation of your work
