PhD degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Experience contributing to research communities including publishing papers in leading venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, JMLR, ACL, WWW, CVPR, IJCV, etc.).
Demonstrated publication record in recognized venues in the field of expertise, with a track record carrying-out research in generative modeling.
Experience in Machine Learning.
Ability to implement deep learning models at scale.
Experience using JAX, and TPUs or GPUs.
Ability to work on large-scale projects as part of a team/

As a Research Scientist, you'll also actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing your findings, with ideas inspired by internal projects as well as from collaborations with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes all over the world.
As a Research Scientist on this team you’ll work on the foundations and applications of generative models, and scale them to large data sets of images, audio, video, and text. This includes coming up with new architectures for generative modeling, analyzing the statistical properties of generative models, and exploring applications to products, machine learning algorithms, or to other scientific disciplines.
Research happens at Google everyday, on many different embedded teams throughout the company. Our research reaches the user through both services and products such as Search, Maps, Google Assistant, Google Translate, Google Cloud and our computing, storage, and networking infrastructure. To achieve this, we’re working on a wide variety of projects that utilize the latest state-of-the-art technologies that push the boundaries of what is possible.
Develop new architectures or training objectives for generative modeling, and analyzing their statistical properties.
Seek out new applications of generative models in Machine Learning research, other scientific disciplines, or in Google products.
Implement models using JAX to run on TPUs at scale.
Write scientific papers about your findings and present your work internally and externally.
Work with product teams to integrate your research into Google products.
