Relationship Management Associate, Citi Commercial Bank Benelux
Citi is expanding its Commercial Banking business in the Benelux region, serving predominantly the mid-sized corporate segment focused on a variety of growth industries with international banking needs. The Citi Commercial Bank (“CCB”) team complements Citi’s existing Banking, Capital Markets & Advisory business that has operated in this region since the 1920s.
Primary responsibilities of the Relationship Management Associate (“RMA”) is to support the acquisition and management of relationships for CCB in Benelux (a new business initiative for Citi in the region), with the objective of revenue growth and establishing a portfolio with good credit quality, in line with the strategy of CCB. A key element of this position is to work in close partnership with bankers, products, operations and risk management teams at all levels (country, regional and global) to support the growth of the new CCB business in the Benelux region.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities:
Know Your Customer (“KYC”) Process Management and Account Opening / Maintenance Process
Support RMs and other team members within the coverage team when needed by the business for ongoing projects, ad hoc requests, client management and internal process support;
Work on customer due diligence (eCADD) / KYC for new to bank clients as well as existing client base, doing so in close partnership with teams located in various regions;
Working with Onboarding Case Managers (OBCMs) to handle documentation related to clients on-boarding with CCB, account opening and treasury-related projects. Keep the clients and RMs abreast of the status;
Work with the OBCM team to Initiate CRM workflow for account opening and other Treasury and Trade Solutions products for assigned customers;
Primary point of contact with customer for all support and documentation related escalations;
Manage Account opening deferral, Credit documentation deferrals – for Business and support RFI (request for information) resolution;
Support account closing process – liaise with internal department and obtain necessary approvals, send notification to customer, etc.
Support RMs with new client acquisition / prospecting, create marketing materials, assist with client meetings, take meeting notes and track deliverables;
Manage key client relationships for transaction level support for a pool of Relationship Managers;
Handle communication and follow-ups with all departments (Risk, Ops, Commercial Lending Management, etc.) to solve client instructions / deficiencies, and conduct CitiDirect / FX Pulse trainings;
In some cases own a portfolio and manage directly some credit customers.
Support RMs, Underwriting and Risk teams with credit requests, annual reviews, internal risk rating determination, and financial spreading (new and credit extensions)
Reporting and Administrative
Support RMs with ad-hoc inquiries and other reports;
Internal documentation handling (scan, transmission of documents, etc.);
Act as back up for RMA colleagues.

Commercial / Corporate banking experience;
Experience in a client servicing role;
Basic knowledge of trade, lending, FX and other cash products.
Organizational skills are a must;
Ability to multi-task and priorities
Commercial / Corporate Banking skills;
Relationship skills and ability to maintain an effective network across the organization;
Knowledge of Citi systems and of CCB would be an advantage;
MS-office skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
Fluency in English required (written and spoken).
