    Job Description

    If you are a regulatory expert with a passion for fintech and a forward-thinking mindset, this could be your chance to make a difference in the finance industry in the Netherlands. You will play a key role in growing Tinka’s business by shaping the regulatory framework for responsible lending and will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and relevant issues in financial services and technology.

    About the Role

    In this role you will be our regulatory oracle by monitoring and assessing national and European authorities on policy and regulatory developments having a strategic or a commercial impact on the Tinka’s business. You will be determining essential internal policies and regulatory positions for responsible lending and proactively develop actions to shape the policy and regulatory landscape.

    Detailed Accountabilities of the Role

    As Regulatory Expert, you will:

    • Maintain a deep understanding of existing legislative and regulatory issues, but more importantly keep up to date on the ongoing developments and various policy issues within the consumer credit and/or payments industry;
    • Research potential changes in rules, regulations, and legislations at the national and European level. And using that knowledge and research to provide information and recommendations to internal Tinka stakeholders that can assist in strategic business planning;
    • Act as liaison between Tinka and it’s regulator(s);
    • Review marketing, legal, and technical documentation to assess regulatory compliance.

    Key knowledge and experience areas:

    • Proven track record in the “Jobs to be Done”;
    • A degree in one of the following disciplines: law, political sciences, economics;
    • Significant experience in the regulatory environment, preferably in (consumer) credit or payments;
    • Experience working as a regulatory advisor in the finance industry;
    • Your job will revolve around regulations and regulator(s), so bringing experience with the first and a network in the last gives you the advantage to quickly take on your role and thrive!

    Tinka is based in the picturesque town of Zwolle in the northeast of the Netherlands. Our team is remote-first and you can work from anywhere. We like to get people together a few times a year, in teams or as a whole company, which we will of course pay for. That’s likely to take place in the Netherlands once it’s safe to do so. If Zwolle is handy for you can of course also work from the office.

    Tinka Benefits Package

    We pay salaries commensurate with experience, skills and ‘market’ with 30 days’ holiday per year. We offer a bonus scheme based on personal and company performance. You also get an 8.5% annual holiday allowance, which grosses up your base annual salary by 8.5% per year so you have more to spend when you’re on holiday (it’s a Dutch thing).
