About the role
The purpose of this role is to lead the Market Sustainability Programme and manage it according to internal compliance controls, best practices, and statutory requirements. The role holder will:
At a market level , support Diageo’s Global 2030 environmental sustainability ambition, by developing and delivering the market strategy, roadmaps, and stretching targets to achieve annual/long-term sustainability goals.
Ensure implementation of programs to achieve impact reductions at set milestones across focus areas.
Represent Diageo where appropriate on in-market peer collaborations, industry forums .
Lead the development of a high-level OPEX and CAPEX sustainability roadmap for 2030 across each submarket.
Identify and share global & market Environmental and Sustainability best practices from sites, markets, regions.
Lead the research, development, pilot, and costing of engineering design solutions within the respective market .
Environmental and Sustainability Governance. - quick and clear escalation where off track.
Align with the sustainability Data strategy and plan. Ensure Market reporting is executed monthly/quarterly/annually. Careful consideration of what insights and data analytics are required to raise the sustainability agenda and focus efforts on activities which provide brand value, customer preference and drive the sustainability agenda faster.
Create and maintain a regulatory advocacy plan with local environmental managers and public affairs
Customers and consumer insights , benchmark market for all sustainability focus areas. Gather insights, build plan for consolidation and escalation to brand, market, innovation.
The successful candidate for this role will be an accomplished programme manager who has a high level of personal integrity and takes pride in their ability to develop and execute a plan that delivers our 2030 sustainability goals for packaging. An in depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, supply chains in food & beverage across multiple countries/geographies/cultures will mean that this person will be able to demonstrate exceptional influencing skill to lead and coach a wide range of stakeholders across our business in order to do this you will be highly collaborative and proactive in finding solutions. We are also looking for someone with a growth mindset who can look to the future whilst learning from the past.
In addition to this, the successful candidate will have extensive experience of delivering change programs in a production led environment. Typically, you will be educated to degree standard in environment/sustainability or relevant equivalent and or science-related discipline or qualified through relevant experience with an, overall, good knowledge of Environmental legislation and standards.
