    Quality Control Team Lead

    Marley Spoon is a direct-to-consumer manufacturing business with a waste free supply chain. We deliver top quality fresh ingredients in the exact quantities required with chef-designed easy-to-cook recipes, to thousands of households across the globe. Together we build brands customers love. Currently we operate four brands that are serving households in the US, Europe, and Australia: Bezzie, Marley Spoon, Martha & Marley Spoon, and Dinnerly.

    As a Quality Control Team Lead you will support the Site Quality & Safety Manager in the areas Food Quality Assurance at our Nieuwegein Production Facility. You will work closely with the site lead, and other operations functions (maintenance, facility management, people operations). You hold the site accountable to meet our internal Quality expectations. You will report directly to the Site Quality & Safety Manager.

    You will:

    • Ensure all facility operations are in compliance with Marley Spoon’s internal policies and standard operating procedures.
    • Lead internal Quality Control Team including scheduling and hours approving.
    • Identify potential risk areas in quality procedures and work with site to complete root cause analysis and put corrective actions in place.
    • Monitor, analyse and report on Quality KPIs - drive success toward weekly, monthly and quarterly targets.
    • Ensure all record keeping is up to date and being properly filled.
    • Support in the interface with internal stakeholders, supporting program management, audits and process improvement
    • Input and follow up on corrective actions derived from internal/external findings, product and process non-conformances and incidents.
    • Promote a “safety culture,” which is known and accepted throughout the company
    • Prepare team meeting agendas and conduct team meetings (daily, weekly or monthly as appropriate), and follow-up on action items.


    You are passionate about driving change and improving business operations. You are a confident, self-starter who is capable of recognizing improvement opportunities and developing specific initiatives that result in an impactful, sustainable change across the organization. You are not afraid to own and drive topics

    • Great communication and leadership skills
    • Strong statistical analysis and visualization skills (Advanced Excel and SPSS is a plus), with attention to detail
    • Bachelor Degree in any of the following subjects: food science, environmental health and safety, quality management, operations, or similar
    • 1-2 years of experience in the food industry is a bonus.
    • Problem solving mindset is essential (familiar with 8D, PDCA, FMEA, Six Sigma)
    • Passionate about food and fresh produce
    • Entrepreneurial self-starter with project management qualities
    • An excellent work ethic and a natural tendency to go above and beyond
    • Fluent in English and Dutch
