    DNV GL Energy is looking for a Project Manager/ Senior Consultant Energy Technology based in Arnhem, the Netherlands to support the Energy Advisory – Energy Markets & Technology department in the region Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa (NEMEA) within DNV GL.

    The candidate will get the opportunity to work on technical and strategic advisory services to (inter)national utilities, industry, asset owners, governmental organizations and investors. It is a mix of technology and service development work for clients, demonstration and testing of existing and new, innovative energy technologies (both in the lab and in the field), consultancy on these technologies, combined with market and regulatory modelling and consultancy services. Our service portfolio covers feasibility and sourcing studies, bankers and lenders technical support, operational support, independent engineering services, system engineering and integration, technical benchmarks and technical due diligence and qualification.

    This opportunity is within the Energy Advisory service area. The increasing demand of electricity through electrification and the ever-growing supply of renewables, requires a reliable and low-cost Transmission and Distribution (T&D) system and market facilitation. Our Energy Advisory provide expertise to stakeholders in the energy value chain. Our services span grid asset management, digital grid operations, efficient grid development and future energy markets.

    We have 200 consultants and engineers in the NEMEA region (Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa). Our offices are in Belgium, Dubai, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and UK. Our Smart Cable Guard department has besides the Netherlands also resources in China, India and Singapore.


    As a Project Manager/ Senior Consultant Energy Technology your main roles and responsibilities will be to:
    • act as a consultant and advise our clients in projects and combine that with the role of project manager
    • be the key expert and first point of contact for our customers on specific topics or services
    • write and review proposals reports and advices to our customers
    • contribute to clear and high-quality customer interactions and presentations
    • work together with and lead colleagues and experts in projects.
    • leverage with younger colleagues and develop the team.
    • sell new projects to grow our business.
    • build a network with (potential) clients.
    • identify customer/market opportunities and develop our services based on these needs.
    Position Qualifications:

    To qualify you must have, i.e. essential skills:
    • Master’s degree in preferably Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a similar technical study with a specialization in Energy.
    • Relevant working experience in the energy or power industry, preferably with technical due diligence experience.
    • Hands-on experience in power/ waste to energy/ other industrial plant installations.
    • Effective writing and communication skills in English. Proficient Dutch language skills will be considered a plus.
    Key competencies, skills and personal attributes:
    • Strong skills and capabilities to develop yourself as a consultant and project manager.
    • Understanding of the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision.
    • Ability to work individually as well as in a team.
    • Ability to handle complex (technical) problems and be able to deal with multiple parties with conflicting interests.
    • Ability to lead (inter)national projects and function as a trusted partner of our customers.
    • Confident, able to get their view across and willing to participate in training/mentoring junior of staff, ideally had previous training skills.
