    The Make Asset Management (MAM) team at is responsible for the introduction and maintenance of all assets. The Engineering department is part of MAM. The core tasks are design and introduction/modification of installations, equipment and facilities.     Project Manager MAM- Engineering

    Function description:

    The primary focus of the project manager is to build and lead a multidisciplinary team that successfully completes capital investment projects, leads changes and/or introduce new processes. It starts by defining and aligning on the right solution to the business need, defining success and making sure all resources and requirements towards realization are in place to ensure your team can deliver. But the role of project manager goes beyond the technical focus: it aims for full implementation and you’ll have a high interaction with all sectors of Janssen Biologics, whether Operations, QC, R&D or Quality, both local and withing the J&J enterprise.

    As the project manager, you have the overall accountability to realize the project results for the assigned projects. To meet the user expectation an open interaction is expected with the project sponsor / business owner. Continuous alignment with partners on the site and the wider Janssen Supply Chain is also a key responsibility. The multidisciplinary project teams are motivated by your engagement and people management skills, to deliver those results which add true value to Janssen Biologics. In this role you show the ability to meet the pre-requisites on Safety, Health, Environment, GMP and reliability as it belongs to an installation or process to manufacture an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API). You are also accountable to ensure business continuity (risk management) and the financial compliance related to your projects. Project budgets can typically vary from 500k€ up until 10M€.

    Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

    • Support the user/business owner in defining the project business case and Final Project Objectives
    • Define the project-scope, budget and timelines and agree this in the Project Brief
    • Build and drive multidisciplinary project teams to achieve the Final Project Objectives
    • Communicate with your sponsors & partners and project portfolio manager on project progress and budget status; both in person and through portfolio management systems
    • Manage client expectations with respect to safety, quality, reliability, time and budget
    • Handle project contracts and purchase orders
    • Apply Flawless Project eXecution (FPX, J&J best practices for project management) and continuously improve the project management process and methods
    • Coach and support team members and peers in applying and developing best practices
    • Support the Engineering Management Team to further develop the department and MAM organization


    Qualifications, Education, Skills & Experience:

    • Academic (Bachelor / Master) degree in a technical or life sciences field.
    • Project Management, GMP, EHS&S, Finance (qualified and/or by experience)
    • Minimum of 5 year working experience in a multidisciplinary environment (pharmaceutical area or equivalent), of which 3 years in a (project)management position
    • Experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams, preferably in a Global organization
    • Strong communication skills in English and preferably also in Dutch; capable of communicating on peer to peer level with (global) senior leadership team
    • Result oriented, team player, focused on alignment, de-escalation and outcome where everybody wins
    • Initiative, and independence and exploring person.
    • Flexible, can deal with changing priorities and stress resistant.
    • Enthusiastic teammate with a “Can do” attitude.
    • Practical technical understanding and conceptual thinking.
