    Project Leader

Inspired to grow with your experience, learn and share with new colleagues?

Huhtamaki is a key global provider of sustainable packaging solutions for consumers around the world, enabling wellbeing and convenience. Our innovative products protect on-the-go and on-the-shelf food and beverages, ensuring hygiene and safety, and help prevent food waste.

We are committed to protecting food, people and the planet and are on the lookout for passionate and consummate professionals to join our growing team to help us deliver on our ambitious 2030 Strategy. We look for colleagues who Care, Dare and Deliver.

Full of new ideas, you walk out of a meeting about the development of sustainable packaging, you immediately think about the project plan. You've missed this energy and challenge in recent years, and you're delighted to have found it again at Huhtamaki Fiber Technology. You have only been working here for six months, and already you are working on the most innovative projects. Projects that really matter and contribute to a sustainable future. Together with Engineering and Product Development you work on sustainable issues and you truly help the customer forward. You can use your energy and technical knowledge in your role as Project Manager. Do you have enough variety? You bet: no project is the same and you are constantly developing new innovations. You're all set for a sustainable future, as well as your future at Huhtamaki Fiber Technology.

    Innovative and sustainable
We are Huhtamaki Fiber Technology, the international R&D centre and machine line developer of the major packaging company Huhtamaki. With passion, we develop machine lines that make it possible to produce sustainable packaging for, among others, the food industry. We have a modern test centre, a pilot plant and various other departments under one roof. And it's all about innovation, sustainable innovation! Not only because our customers and end users from the global retail market demand it every day, but also because we ourselves strive for a world with sustainable packaging materials. A good example is our Fresh project, in which we developed fully compostable packaging for ready-to-eat meals. And the best thing is: this packaging results in 82% less CO2 emissions and no plastic waste. Making a difference, that is what we are proud of!

What does your working day look like?
Wednesday morning, 9:00 AM. You've checked your e-mail and are walking towards your first meeting. You are going to talk about a new project: a customer has indicated that they also want to get rid of plastic packaging. You are going to turn their old trusty plastic coffee cup into a sustainable cup. Together with the Innovation Manager and some Engineers you discuss the issue: what is the cup going to look like, how are we going to make it, and on what scale should it be produced? After this brainstorming session, you walk back to your office full of energy and get straight to work on a project plan. Then you put together a project team and send everyone an invitation to the first meeting.
In the afternoon you have an appointment with a Design Engineer about the product development, he gives you an update on the project. The first prototypes look very good and you walk to your next appointment satisfied. At the end of the day, you schedule a meeting with the steering group to discuss the initial results - of which you are already proud. You check your schedule for tomorrow and read a last-minute e-mail from a customer who gives you a nice compliment. With a smile and a sense of pride, you close your laptop and head home. Tomorrow is another day with great appointments.

Maybe you're glowing too, because you're imagining that you've accomplished this great project. That's good, because it gets even more interesting for you below.
