The Project Consultant – ServiceNow prepares and executes complex changes on the ServiceNow platform, either via the Change Management process or as part of larger projects and programs, in close collaboration with project managers, solution architects, ServiceNow Product Owners and other stakeholders across different functions and business units.
As a major international organization, AkzoNobel operates a global Information Management Center of Expertise (IM CoE) consisting of about 115 architects and project consultants working closely with corporate functions and business stakeholders and a range of external partners and suppliers. The IM CoE is responsible for providing sustainable, efficient, robust and secure workplace & IT solutions. The Project Consultant - ServiceNow will be part of a small team within the CoE that is responsible for processes and applications related to the IT value chain which includes ServiceNow as the strategic platform for enterprise service management, IT business management and IT operations. The Project Consultant reports into the applicable Domain Manager or Domain lead in the Information Management Center of Expertise.
AkzoNobel is preparing to execute a large-scale ServiceNow Back-to-Box project in 2021. This will include a transformation of user experience based on a single enterprise service portal. The new instance should pave the way for further improvements and adoption of new capabilities. This provides a tremendous opportunity for an experienced ServiceNow consultant with ambitions for further development and growth in an exciting enterprise environment.
Support ServiceNow Product Owners and other stakeholders in formulating business requirements and identifying opportunities ensuring business needs are met.
Assess requirements and develop solution options for complex changes and projects in collaboration with solution architects, project teams and other stakeholders.
Ensure that solutions are compatible with architecture and compliant with strategy, policy, guidelines, budget, and operational supportability.
Bring AkzoNobel-specific knowledge on processes and systems into projects.
Provide functional expertise and contribute to the realization of the solutions in collaboration with project teams, the project manager, solution architects and business stakeholders.
Hands-on configuration and development in ServiceNow for projects and complex changes.
Work under operational guidance of project managers to plan and execute projects according to the CIO Office guidelines and IM processes, within the defined scope, time utilization and budget.
Ensure that requirements are implemented as agreed and designed.
Anticipate issues and act to prevent or proactively address potential issues.
Create and maintain quality documentation such as process flows, specifications, functional/technical designs and deployment runbooks.
Collaborate with the solution architects to ensure that standards are defined, kept up-to-date and implemented consistently.
Facilitate user acceptance testing.
Facilitate user training and workshops.
Provide knowledge and project experience back to solution architects and support teams.
Cooperate and collaborate with IM Services on Service Introduction management.
Who are we looking for?
Master and/or Bachelor degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study;
Minimum of 3 years of experience with ServiceNow;
Extensive and recent experience with ServiceNow ITSM applications;
Experience with one or more of the following ServiceNow applications is a plus:
IT Asset Management, IT Business Management (PPM, APM), HR Service Delivery, Scoped Apps, Security Incident response;
Experience with one or more of the following ServiceNow platform capabilities is necessary:
Common Service Data Model, CMDB, Configuration Management, Service Catalogue(s), Integrations;
Experience with implementing ServiceNow “Out-of-the-Box”;
The Project Consultant must have experience with the technical, functional and business (consulting) elements of the role and being able to collaborate with and business analysts in IT, HR, Finance, Procurement, Master Data Management on a functional and process level;
Experience as an application developer in complex environments on other platforms is a plus.
For example: Java, SQL, HTML, CSS, Jelly, xml, json, etc. as well as in areas such as data modelling and interfacing.
