We are looking for a Program Operations Officer to strengthen the Landscapes Finance team.
IDH’s mission is built upon three core pillars: convening, co-financing and learning & innovating. We convene public-private partnerships to jointly set ambitious targets and formulate co-investment plans that unlock scaling of sustainable production & trade to deliver large scale impact on the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate agreement.
IDH is engaged in a broad global portfolio of Landscapes programs, that support jurisdictions in developing and implementing a holistic sustainable development agenda, based on production, protection, restoration and inclusion principles, and supporting innovation in business models that contribute to these agendas.
The Landscape Finance team is dedicated to mobilizing private investments and learning around such innovative business models, and manages Technical Assistance Facilities (TAF) for a number of investment funds that promote inclusive and sustainable land use, rural livelihoods and forest protection, including the Land Degradation Neutrality Fund, the AGRI3 Fund, the &Green Fund, as well as works closely with IDH’s FarmFitFund, dedicated to investing in smallholder inclusive business models.
IDH aims to recruit one Program Operations Officer to support the IDH Landscape Finance team to deliver on its ambitious program. The Program Officer Operations will support program management and operations in the Business Unit (BU) Landscapes (around 80 FTE worldwide in Latin America, the Netherlands, Africa and Asia) and will work closely with the Program Managers and Program officer for the LDN TAF and AGRI3 TAF, and the Operations team of the Landscapes BU. Key responsibilities include:
Contracting of new projects for Landscapes Finance programs, including the Technical Assistance Facilities for the Land Degradation Neutrality Fund, the AGRI3 Fund and the &Green Fund
Coordination of calls for proposals issued by the Landscapes Finance team (including both tendering processes for consultancy services and open calls for projects)
Monitoring donor compliance of grant-funded projects and programs
Supporting review of project progress reports and preparation of donor reports
Designing and implementing improvements in program operations, e.g. introduction of new (digital) tools and methods for program and project management, ensure alignment with IDH wide operations.
Coordinate IDH pipeline of investment opportunities with IDH country teams, and maintain the quarterly investment development dashboard
Maintain Landscape Finance website and prepare regular online communications
Support and coordinate development of knowledge products and (online) events, in close cooperation with the relevant program manager
Who you are
You have a few years of work experience in a program or project support role, e.g. as Project or Program Management Officer in a financial institution, or larger company or NGO. You are familiar with a considerable level of complexity in projects or programs and are not deterred by ambiguity. You have affinity with the work IDH and the Landscapes Finance team. You love to organize, structure and design processes with the aim of facilitating global teams in achieving results. You are digitally savvy and you have experience in working in international teams with people with different cultural backgrounds.
What you bring
Few years program/project experience in an international environment, of which 0-2 years relevant program experience.
Working and thinking at Bachelor’s degree in for example international business administration or public administration.
Strong inter personal skills and the ability to communicate diplomatically in cross-cultural situations.
Experience with use of project management and management information software or apps, e.g. Salesforce, Tableau, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or similar tools. Experience with applying program or project management methods (e.g. Agile, IPMA, PMP, MSP) is an advantage.
Fluent in English, spoken and written. Additional language skills in Dutch, French, Portuguese, Bahasa Indonesia, Spanish are an advantage.
Experience developing communication pieces, documents and presentations for external audiences. Experience in website maintenance is a plus.
Working knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting in excel
Knowledge, obtained through work or study, of agricultural supply chains, sustainable landscape, impact investment and global environmental challenges is an advantage.

What we offer

We offer a gross monthly salary between €2500 and € 2700 (based on a 40-hour week) and solid fringe benefits, including a good pension scheme.
