TNW Events team is looking for a full-time Program Manager to help build the programs for our events. The role has a large emphasis on project management and building strategic relationships.
Full-time · Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The hats you'll wear
We’re looking for a strong communicator and project manager able to build commercially driven programs featuring the world's most sought-after thought leaders. As Program Manager for TNW Events, you’ll be reaching out to tech's industry leaders with the goal of building high value and impactful programs that are ahead of the curve. You'll communicate directly with some of the world's leading CEO's in technology, including Basecamp, Airbnb, Reddit, Slack, Uber, Tesla, and many more.
You’ll be part of lean production team, building out programs for internal TNW events and custom events for strategic partners. This is not an event operations or logistics role. The focus is content development and creating commercially successful events. Our ideal candidate has some experience in business development to help them with: (1) convincing speakers of the value of speaking at TNW without a fee and (2) understanding which topics and formats will drive revenue and audience satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Conduct desk research and phone interviews to identify key trends and assure the most timely and relevant topics and themes are featured on our agenda
- Build relationships in the industry, reach out to potential new speakers and follow up with potential leads throughout the year
- Contribute in setting the content direction of the conference; help decide which themes make it to the stages and how to make sure the content resonates with the audience
- Collaborate with marketing, sales and operations to execute a commercially successful program, assuring that the content plan is of highest commercial value
- Prepare documentation and write convincing copy for the successful execution of sessions at the conference
Requirements
- You have a BA level education or beyond
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in communications, journalism, community management or business development plus a minimum 1 year of commercial event content production experience - digital event experience is a plus. Preferably a combination that includes business development experience and/or shows you're a business-savvy communicator.
- You are a native or near native English communicator. You’re able to eloquently explain the benefits of attending our events in emails, across social platforms and on the phone, without breaking a sweat. You're confident with speaking with senior level executives.
- Experience with our current technology stack is a plus: Spark, Google Apps, Airtable, Slack, Typeform, Hubspot and Notion.
- A good balance between a team player/self-starter. You need to work cross-departmentally to achieve a range of goals, but at the same time you need to be able to get things done even when there's no one around to help.
- You live in the Netherlands or plan to move here (and have a work visa). Full-time preferred; we are open to considering freelance applicants.
Our offer
- An open vacation policy
- A relaxed, informal work atmosphere
- An online subscription to the Financial Times
- Affordable lunch, snacks, and great coffee (when back to the office)
- An inspiring workplace in TNW South with a rooftop terrace and bar
- A network brimming with influencers, talented geeks, and promising startups
- Weekly drinks with colleagues and other TWN South residents
