    Product Owner NutriOpt

    Job Description:

    Are you able to collaborate with business stakeholders to define and communicate the digital product roadmap and priorities? Can you manage the workload of our Digital Development Team to ensure the efficient delivery of a range of project/programs? Then Trouw Nutrition has a very interesting role as Product Owner for you!

    What are you going to do?

    As a Product Owner (PO), it is your task to combine the input of all stakeholders (in- and externally) and to process this input when defining, validating and accepting User Stories. Alongside, you will prioritize the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of projects/programs. To do so, you have to manage and visualize the product Backlog towards future development, and prioritize the list of requirements that comes with that.

    As the primary communicator you are the link between all stakeholders, including the development and System & Solution Architect/Engineering team(s). The primary stakeholders within your scope are management, product managers and users. Of course, also all others NutriOpt representatives are within your scope, with the Species Councils in particular.

    The base?

    The key responsibility is to translate business requirements into user stories, based on the interaction with the Project Managers and Product-Market Managers. You provide them with the relevant information about the impact of new business requirements. By doing this, you are functioning as a dynamic couple to find the best possible solutions for the business and IT.

    The Product Owner works within the NutriOpt Digital Development Team: i.e. multidisciplinary agile DevOps teams. You work closely together with Project Managers and Product-Market Managers to deliver the digital components of the NutriOpt Digital Roadmap with the DevOps team. You provide input to the Business Product Owner for the Digital development roadmap and align with this role about the progression and trends in the team. You also report to the Business Product Owner NutriOpt.

    The NutriOpt team is part of the Innovation department. NutriOpt is a digital platform that integrates the customer experience and our expert knowledge into digital, customer-oriented solutions. We work in partnership with our customers, and our digital platform enables them to optimize their farming business by making better decisions on animal performance and animal welfare, whilst managing costs. NutriOpt aspires to excel in the triangle nutrition, farming and health to deliver digitally enabled integrated solutions. To do so, we continuously work with strategic partners to create synergy and extra business value for our customers.

    What are your key accountabilities?

    • Manage the triangle of scope, budget, and time, weighing priorities according to the needs and objectives of stakeholders and provide them with relevant information about the impact of new business requirement;
    • Responsible for communicating with stakeholders across the board, including customers, business managers project managers, product-market mangers, and the development team to make sure the goals are clear and the vision is aligned with business objectives;
    • As the person responsible for requirements, you have an essential role in the team demo, reviewing and accepting stories. Also participates in the Iteration Retrospective, where the teams gather to improve their processes;
    • Understand the scope of the upcoming enabler work and to collaborate with System and Solution Architect/Engineering to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructures that will host the new business functionality;
    • Ensure that the business and IT are equally aligned to make the product vision come true;
    • Creates the list of backlog items and prioritize them based on the overall strategy and business objectives as defined by NutriOpt MT. Additionally, the product owner will need to map out project dependencies to inform the necessary sequence of development;
    • Story definition, providing the clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story estimates and sequencing. The PO also drafts the team’s specific objectives for the refinements;
    • Accept stories as done. This includes validation that the story meets acceptance criteria and has the appropriate, persistent acceptance tests, and that it otherwise complies its Definition of Done (DoD). In so doing, you also assure a level of quality, focusing primarily on fitness for use.

    What you bring

    • Master’s degree (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science;
    • 7+ years’ of working experience within an Agile work environment or/and working within multidisciplinary teams;
    • 5+ years’ experience with leading a development team (hierarchically or functionally);
    • Fluent in English (writing and speaking) is mandatory, knowledge of other languages is considered a plus;
    • Professional Scrum Product Owner certified.
