We are looking for a Product Engineer Connected Chargepoint Hardware! A role that combines technical hardware analysis, supplier assessment and development of our embedded hardware portfolio, supporting our team to be multi hardware compatible.
In this position you will be working within the Emobility unit and are based in Amsterdam.
The Emobility unit has the task to:
Grow Vattenfall’s business of electric vehicle charging solutions
Create a clear profile towards customers through distinguishing charging products and services
Have customer satisfaction levels of at least 8/10
You will be responsible for the analysis, implementation and development of our hardware & suppliers portfolio – focusing on quality & technology – supporting the Strategy & Product Development team.
Main tasks and responsibilities include:
Assess & report on key trends in chargepoint hardware & standardization technologies
Manage all technical communications with charge station hardware suppliers and sub-contractors regarding existing and future products & features.
Assess quality of new suppliers, new hardware products, and internal electrical components of the charging stations/accessories – via hands-on electrical measurements and benchmarking.
Advice on technological & economic feasibility for different use / business cases.
Provide technical consultancy & ‘on demand hardware analyses’ for product developers
Represent our team in relevant technical committees, researches and/or organizations
The Product Engineer will report to the Manager Hardware Network.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on and commercially minded innovator to join our team. You have an entrepreneurial mindset and you enjoy being part of an ambitious team.
Furthermore you match the following requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in electrical or mechanical.
>5 years of working experience in selecting, implementing and/or using new suppliers, new connected hardware and/or new components; experience in E-Mobility, Smart energy, Telecom, or related electro technical industries is a strong plus.
Deep understanding on ‘electronic products ‘life cycle’, start from requirements analysis, design, development, manufacturing, testing to certifications and compliances.
Positive attitude to see problems as opportunities and come-up with solution proposals.
Comfortable in co-working and coordinating with different internal & external team – from developers to sales and update at different levels in the organization.
Ability to prioritize multiple demands and understand / assess when to take necessary risks for appropriate rewards.
Willingness to travel internationally (max 1x/month).
Fluent in English (written and spoken); Dutch, German and Swedish is a plus.
