About the Tea Business
Unilever is proud of its Tea business, the biggest in the world, with world class purpose driven brands such as Lipton, PG tips and Pukka. Recently, Unilever decided to separate the Tea business to ensure it can best achieve its potential. Unilever is currently reviewing several options for separation, including a demerger, an initial public offering, a disposal or through partnership models. The Tea businesses in India and Indonesia, and the partnership interests in the ready-to-drink Tea joint ventures will be retained.
The balance of the Tea brands and geographies and all Tea estates, with generated revenues of €2 billion in 2019, is growing and profitable with proven potential both pre- and post-COVID-19. As a standalone entity, the Tea company remains number one in the world and is even better positioned to lead the industry and take full advantage of the opportunities in the category, with more focus and entrepreneurship driving greater growth and value.

As the Procurement Manager of the Tea Business, the primary focus of this role is to drive the actions for the Sustainability agenda. The Sustainability Manager has to work with Internal stakeholders to implement and drive the overall Sustainability agenda.
The Leader will need to:
Collaborate with other Cross Functional Teams
Creating inspirational, realistic, and achievable plans
Managing and embedding change
Stakeholder influencing and management
Execute Actions on the Work of Regenerative Agricultural Programs in line with the Tea Business needs and requirements and the Principles defined and agreed with the Leadership team.
Drive Actions on Impact programs with an impact on Soil, Water and Biodiversity.
Drive agenda and plans for No-Deforestation Agenda within the Tea Business.
Implement policies for Compliance and Monitoring of various policies. For eg: RSP policy
Drive various certifications as required and needed per Business agenda and needs.
Work closely with other Labour agencies and Supply Partners to ensure that the Living Income plans for workers are ensured and protected.
Drive agendas on establishing Traceability in our end to end Value chain and ensuring engagements and actions for decarbonisation roadmap.
Measure and manage overall performance of suppliers on various topics within the overall Sustainability Agenda.
Engage with R&D teams on development of sustainability programs leveraging the plantations as a place to further the development of our understanding of sustainable tea
Work closely with brand teams, developing sustainability strategies that add value to the positioning of the brands
Engage externally representing the tea business in key multi stakeholder forums
Your Key Tasks:
Implement and drive the Sustainability procurement strategies.
Ensure high level of drive and commitment on Overall Business impacts which are linked with Sustainability.
Continuously improve ways of working and optimise procurement activities.
Ensure the satisfaction of Internal customers with the services provided by the procurement organization.
Support the collaboration with senior functional leaders to establish both short and long-term business objectives.
Implement cross-functional initiatives and represent Business interests in the management of external strategic relationships.
In the context of Partnering with Purpose, to identify, develop and manage strategic business relationships to enable implementation of the Business strategy.

Who we are looking for
University degree (Engineering or Business preferred)
At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in Procurement
Experience on large-scale change management projects
Relevant procurement experience in Strategy and Sustainability will be an advantage
Experience in supply and portfolio strategy development (added advantage)
Experience in working in a virtual team and regional/global scope
Experience in leading a team and people management
Certifications in Sustainability or audits will be preferred.
