    PR and Communications Specialist (Product & Issues)

    Booking.com is looking for a PR and Communications Specialist to join the company’s PR and external communications function to support with global press office management and to serve as a key point of contact within the team for a selection of key internal business units, including Customer Service, Trips (including Attractions) and Sustainability, as well as strategic cross-company disciplines such as Machine Learning and Voice, all in line with evolving company priorities. With a focus on global messaging and materials development, this person will be responsible for drafting reactive responses for media, assisting with issues investigation and management, reviewing partner press release requests, and generally supporting the PR team around relevant business initiatives. This includes liaising with internal stakeholders as well as co-developing proactive PR plans to promote select company milestones and product news to media.

    As a member of a multi-functional HQ PR and communications team, this person will also collaborate daily with Booking.com’s regional PR team and the Booking Holdings communications team, as well as interfacing with colleagues in Social Media, Internal Communications, Security, Brand Communications, Product and Technology on a regular basis.

    B. Responsible

    • Working alongside the rest of the central HQ team to execute the global communications and PR strategy for Booking.com, specifically enhancing efforts in brand reputation, issues management and proactive external communications support for Sustainability, Attractions and other key internal business units, in line with evolving company priorities
    • Developing and drafting press materials, including messaging, talking points, statements, briefing memos and Q&As
    • Acting as a key point of contact and communications liaison to different areas of the business on a day-to-day basis, escalating concerns and opportunities to relevant communications team leads as necessary and capturing key actions during meetings / calls
    • In-bound, reactive media management and monitoring
    • Issues investigation, communications management and tracking, working collaboratively with key points of contact within relevant teams
    • Working with relevant teams internally as needed to create consistent communications approaches, messaging and assets for all internal and external stakeholders
    • Identifying and developing proactive news drivers and moments to build awareness for the brand amongst relevant consumer, partner and industry audiences
    • Measuring, evaluating and optimizing communications processes and output

    B. Skilled

    • A proven track record of 3-5 years in communications and/or a related field
    • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to produce reactive and proactive copy (across a range of formats) with impact, clarity and speed, distilling complex topics in clear, relatable ways
    • Knowledge of the e-commerce and/or travel industries
    • Experience playing a key role in issues and crisis management, assisting in development of communication strategy, developing messaging, driving alignment with all stakeholders, and managing media accordingly
    • Strong organizational skills; clear and strategic thinking
    • Ability to move quickly and be extremely hands on
    • Excellent verbal communications and presentation skills
    • Experience with stakeholder management and an ability to navigate large global organizations
    • Developing ability to increasingly provide robust communications counsel to key company stakeholders and executives, as well as briefing and supporting spokespeople
    • Experience working at or with technology/internet/digital brand(s)
    • Fluent in English (verbal and written), any other languages are an advantage
