    Internship in Project Management Office at global Learning & Development department

    The Philips University (PU) is the single source for learning within Philips. We focus on developing the skills and competencies of our employees globally by providing ongoing learning and development support. To ensure that we further improve the way we manage and deploy large scale learning programs we built a project management office (PMO). The project management office enables the learning teams to get the right trainings into Philips on time.

    You are responsible for

    • Enabling the learning teams. As part of Philips University PMO team you’ll be the right hand of project managers for bigger projects. In addition, you will become responsible for smaller projects in terms of: project planning & execution, stakeholder management, risk management, communication etc.;
    • Conducting reporting activities;
    • Executing internal communication
    • Co-Implementing best project management practices within the department.

    You are a part of

    You will be working in the PU PMO team located in Amsterdam and Eindhoven and report into one of our 4 project managers. Our team is supporting all Business Groups, Functions and Markets within Philips.

    We have a very open atmosphere and everyone is very approachable. We think that we are a very social, creative and fun team. We are actually planning a trip to Berlin with the team and colleagues should expect something to happen at their Birthday! We feel strongly that our interns are full members of our team (like a jr. project manager), we expect you to take up responsible tasks (managers will help you if needed, but you can take up responsibilities). We like it if you come up with continuous improvement proposals and implement those.

    Coaching is organized in weekly sit-ins, together we will create your development. Furthermore all PU interns come together and share experiences on a monthly basis. In practice, you see your mentor on a daily basis. Our previous interns do not want to leave Philips anymore.

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

    • Bachelor degree (international study preferred) in Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources, Change Management, Learning & Development or related studies;
    • Fluent in English (open for international students);
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Pragmatic can do mind-set and a passion for learning;
    • Project management work experience preferred.

    Internship conditions:

    • Graduation thesis projects can be discussed;
    • Minimum duration of 6 months;
    • The candidate can start ASAP;
    • Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance;
    • A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract;
    • A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline;
    • The student is entitled to paid leave based on 1 day per month;
    • During the internship, you will work 4 days per week for Philips and you will have 1 day to work on your thesis;
    • Opportunity to buy Philips products with tax benefit (Philips MyShop).
