    We are looking for a Payroll Specialist for our Amstelveen offices. Within the HR Operations team, the Payroll Specialist will be accountable for an accurate and timely processing of payrolls.

    1. Payroll Operations:

    • Initiate, plan, execute and check the payroll process with accurate, correct, useful, timely and consistent results.

    • Input all payroll relevant information in the system.

    • Prepare and run pay-run related reports.

    • Prepare and deliver payslips and information to employees.

    • Operate as System Administrator for RAET: create and update employee portal (access rights, p/w resets, ...); manage the journal entry conversion table (account, cost centers); update annual (company pension deductibles and company related socsec) variables.

    • Ensure effective customer service to all leves of employees and management (Canon Europe N.V. staff as well as Assignees and Expats from/to Europe/Japan) by answering questions and solving payroll issues in a timely, professional and accurate manner.

    2. SOX:

    • Maintain and update all controls and audits used to balance and reconcile payroll operations.

    • Assist in collating SOX testing materials and take an active approach in ensuring we keep within scope at all times.


    3. Support HR Operations and provide information to:
    • Support the accounting team in the completion of all statutorily required compliance.

    • Work proactively with the HR Business Partners.

    • Liase with outside agencies to provide and receive information related to payroll.

    • Coordinate with third party payroll service provider to ensure compliance with payroll processing and payroll tax reporting. Keep all sensitive information confidential at all times.

    4. Pension administration: Submit and control pension changes to pension insurance company.

    5. Legislation knowlegde: Keep yourself, Finance and HR Departments up to date with changes in Social Security, taxes and all wage and tax requirements, monitoring the effect of these changes on the company.

    6. Confidencial Bank account: Prepare payments, check amounts received, manage bank balance, create monthly journal for Finance.

    7. Labour Cost and FTE Bugdets for Canon Europa N.V.

    8. Ad-hoc projects (e.g. payroll data reports, local/international reports requests, salary surverys... ).





    What we ask

    We need people who can achieve the exceptional by working collaboratively, who have the courage to risk new ways of doing things and the ability to see the world the way their customers see it. We're looking for creative problem-solvers like you, someone who can ensure Canon stays ahead in an ever-changing world.

    You are the candidate we are looking for if you have:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience running independently and without supervision of a more senior payroll specialist all dutch payroll activities in a Dutch based company (more than 500 employees).

    • Advanced PDL payroll education level mandatory; member of a professional payroll certification body preferred.

    • Experience with RAET is an advantage.

    • Excellent Microsoft Excel mandatory; PowerPoint skills is a plus.

    • In depth knowledge of Social Security, taxes and employment legislation in The Netherlands.

    • Good communication skills in English and Dutch
