    Payroll Accountant | English

    Job description

    To further strengthen the team, they are currently looking for a Payroll accountant. They countries in which they are operating and where they have payroll are the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Switzerland and Czech Republic. You will have the following responsibilities:

    Payroll administration:
    • Collect and send all mutations (e.g. changes in employee’s personal data, salary, bonus, information about sick leave, maternity leave, holidays used (in case hourly consultants)) to the payroll providers for Core staff and hourly consultants
    • Approve all mutations registered by the HR department
    • Check all documents sent back by the providers, request corrections if needed
    • Coordinate the approval flow with the relevant managers
    • Ensure accurate and timely salary, tax, social security and other payroll related payments
    • Pay pension, monitor changes and coordinate change requests with the pension providers
    • Coordinate one-time payments with the payroll providers according to the agreement with the employees
    • Release payslips – ensure that all payslips delivered to the employees
    • Download and archive all the payroll related documents
    • Ensure that all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements, make the necessary correction/reclasses in cooperation with the financial Accountants
    • Update PTO files based on HR and SCOOP inputs
    • Provide support to employees based on Fresh Service tickets. Monitor requests and report efficiency
    • Update and improve payroll policies, manuals, instructions and payment overviews.
    • Payroll Ireland, Switzerland is going thru ADP Celegro while other countries will be moving to ADP Celegro within the next months so support both ADP and Non ADP payroll within Europe.

    Reconciliation and reporting:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports to Financial Accountants and headquarters, e.g. Headcount Report and others on request and need
    • Review the reconciliation of all the payroll accounts, maintain accurate account balances
    • Prepare all the recharge requests related to payroll to the Intercompany department
    • Follow up on payroll related receipts and payments – code the bank statement for booking

    Project participation:
    • Active participation and support ADP Celergo implementation based on the project agreement (estimated 10 hours per week max)

    Internal, external audits:
    • Provide all relevant documents for SOX audit, support the internal and external auditors work with timely, accurate information related the payroll processes

    Ad hoc tasks:
    • Download requested timesheets for employees
    • Provide special documentation if requested e.g. unemployment certificate, tax certificates
    • Re-send payslips if requested
    • Compile data from payroll sources
    • Terminate pension and or insurance contracts
    • Prepare and send Ad Hoc reports, e.g. Insurance overview in NL

    Requirements

    Candidate needs to have the following profile and knowledge/experience
    • Payroll knowledge and at least 2 years payroll experience
    • Good Excel knowledge
    • English is a must and Dutch would be a plus but not a must to have
    • Some knowledge of accounting and knows how debits and credits work on the BS and P&L accounts
    • Business acumen
    • Accurate and to the point
    • No 9 to 5 mentality

    Working conditions

    You will start with a temporary contract through Undutchables. There is the possibility that our client will take you on their own payroll after a couple of months. The salary depends on your experience and should be somewhere between €3500,- and €4500,- gross a month based on full time employment.
