Medical Science Liaison Oncology

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a nation-wide field-based role and demonstrates mastery and innovation in the ability to develop on-going professional relationships with national and regional healthcare key experts and healthcare professionals to initiate and drive field medical initiatives, provide medical and scientific support for Daiichi Sankyo company initiatives in the therapeutic area of Oncology.
To be a therapeutic area Oncology scientific expert, responsible for discussing our products, patients’ treatment trends and studies in the therapeutic areas in which we are involved, on a peer-to-peer basis with a defined audience of leading specialists (physicians, pharmacists, hospital managers, board members of scientific societies, and other stakeholders) and to be considered a trusted scientific partner.
To maximize company product value through high-quality scientific communication with leading specialists on a peer-to-peer basis. Conduct activities in line with the (Field) Medical Affairs Plan, the MSL is jointly responsible for the realization of short-term and long-term company goals. The MSL is also responsible for appropriate and compliant support and execution of clinical trials, facilitate Investigator Initiated Trials and manage Grant applications and execution.
The MSL identifies and establishes networks for most effective and efficient medical-scientific communication to contribute to optimizing Breast, Non-Small Cell Lung, Gastric and Colorectal Cancer health care.
The MSL Oncology reports into the Medical Manager Oncology NL.
University Master’s degree in (Bio)Medical Sciences
Advanced degree in oncology such as PhD or PharmD is highly preferred
Residency or additional post doctorate experience in oncology is highly preferred
Strong experience in Medical Affairs and Oncology
Previous experience as MSL or other roles in Medial Affairs and/or R&D is preferred
Fluent in both Dutch and English in written as well as spoken communications
Knowledge of and experience in clinical study management and conduct
Willingness and ability to travel nationally / internationally as required
Advanced communication as well as presentation skills and facilitating discussions with small and large groups in an engaging manner
Ability to work independently, self-starter, energetic
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently
Ability to work in a cross-functional team
Positive and proactive attitude, hands-on mentality
Outgoing and creative with a desire to be active in the field.
Strong team spirit
Skilful with Office programs
Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical business
