    ING Domestic Bank Netherlands is building a state-of-the-art Data Lake. An ambitious project based on technologies like IBM InfoSphere (DataStage, Information Governance Catalog), PDA (Netezza), Oracle Exadata and Cognos.

    Your job

    As a DevOps engineer you will be working in an agile way for one of our Platform squads. This squad works as a scrum team consisting of 6-8 Platform engineers and a Product Owner who decides on the priority of the user stories. The responsibilities of the platform squad consist of maintaining, growing and securing the platform which consists of Infosphere Information Server, the PureData for Analytics (Netezza), Oracle, Citrix, Linux, WebSphere. Your job will be to support the team with visualizing and monitoring the performance of the platform. The platform is widely used by our Content squads and other parties within the bank servicing our internal colleagues with data and supporting a data driven way of work. Not only do we want to support others by data driven decisions we also want our own way of work in the department to be supported by data and there is a huge opportunity here within this role to achieve insights.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Keep the Platform running within Service Level Agreements
    • Creating monitoring and alerting for daily Operations related tasks (incoming requests and incidents)
    • Creating and maintaining monitoring solutions for the squad and the consumers of the platform
    • Keep the Platform safe and secure with regards of Compliance and Risk
    • Improve processes within the Platform squad way of work
    • Bridge between Platform squad and Content squads
    • Creating Management reports/dashboards on Platform performance

    Together with around 3 years of experience in Monitoring, Data Base Administration and reporting experience in similar environments, we expect you to have had experience working with the following tools, techniques and way of working:


    • Reporting tools (Cognos or similar)
    • Strong knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (E.g.: Elastic, Prometheus)
    • Automation and Monitoring mindset
    • Knowledge of visualization strategies
    • Worked experience in Data Base Administration
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Fluent in English language (speaking and writing)
    • Willingness to work on a regular base outside office hours (Stand by support)


    • PDA (Netezza) or other DB (E.g.: Oracle, DB2, Postgres)
    • Operations experience
    • Experience in ETL tooling
    • Experienced in agile way of working and scrum
