What you will do
As a Merchandising Business Specialist, you’re entrepreneurial, analytical, customer-obsessed, and action-oriented. Within the newly formed Merchandising department, you take actions that align a variety of internal teams such as Supply, Distribution and Product.
Your day to day work is in analysing site usage, getting hands-on by configuring optimisations, monitoring the impact of your changes, and extrapolating broader lessons from the optimisations that have succeeded. You work closely with business analysts and other team members to dive into data, to produce hypotheses that work in line with the company’s strategy, and to challenge accepted wisdom to achieve outstanding results.
The role requires patience, great diplomacy skills, a knack for data analysis and telling a story, and a passion for doing what’s right for the customer.
Ensuring a specific geographic market is merchandised according to Tiqets’ internal ‘playbooks’, working across departments
Daily, weekly, monthly monitoring and analyses of your market, tracking progress towards team and company goals, and reporting on KPIs
Execution of optimisations to drive conversion and margin
Continuous tracking of results from optimisations
Expert Looker (BI tool) user
Definition and update of Merchandising playbooks (guidelines and rules on how to optimise)
Project management and roll-out of new tools and features
Feedback to Product teams on usage and implementation of forthcoming features
Coordination between business teams to understand merchandising problems and share back with the rest of the business
2+ years in a business-delivery role
Bachelor’s degree with an analytical focus
Experience within a fast moving company where you were able to thrive in uncertainty and deliver business value
Experience in e-commerce, merchandising and/or digital marketing is a plus
Understanding of the basics of A/B testing is essential
Experience using Business Intelligence tooling to dive into data and find pertinent insights to improve your business goals
Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing
Ability to switch between ad-hoc analytical tasks and a structured project-based approach, working independently on business-critical tasks as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
Capacity to thrive in a fast-moving environment, with good business judgement, problem-solving and follow-through skills
